I would be really tempted to buy a BT bag with that type of stain too. I like to ask myself if I could justify the cost if the stain didn’t come out as I would like. Because I was able to remove some water marks from one light color bag, it is very tempting. And I have other bags where the stains didn’t budge.

Well I won the bag Lat night...so we'll see!

Ugh!!!!! I found a beat up Sonoma bucket zip today at savers...... and in my excitement to have found one for short money I hurried home and cut the tag off and dunked her only to realize as she is soaking wet and I am scrubbing her down that The Zipper is pulling away on both sides!
I have to stop myself and do better inspections before I remove tags and dunk them! At least it wasn't an expensive lesson.
Oh well I have a Hang Tag and a zipper pull for a Sonoma out of it.
I've done that too. I have to remind myself that there's a always a reason things get donated. Sometimes they are just dirty, and othertimes they are unfixable. :(

Question to the serial rehabbers: did someone ever give a bath to a bag on which you've used Fiebings leather cement before? Did the glued parts survive the bath?

Thanks.
I vaguely remember doing this on a very small area of a bag (edge of a strap, piping repair, etc.) and it was fine. However, if you have the option, it's better to do the gluing after the bath.

What glue do you guys use with most success for sticking down split piping? It seems everything I'm reading reviews of on Amazon has mixed reviews. I ordered Tandy eco flo but I have no idea if it's going to be great. I just ran out of e6000 fabric fuse and overall I wasn't that overjoyed with it. It doesn't always stick, it gets messy,, the applicator tip got blocked straight away. What do you use?

I have a patent Coach bag and it has black marks on it, almost like transfer from a photocopy or something. Anyone had any luck cleaning a patent bag? Or any suggestions?

Thanks!
This may be dumb, but have you tried rubbing it with water using a soft cloth? I haven't done this to any Coach bags, but this works on my patent leather Dansko clogs which get those black scuffs regularly.

I use Fiebings leather cement. It does get a bit messy, because I am using my nails to push together the sides of the split to close, works better than using toothpicks.
