I’ve never done a rehab bag before so please bear with me if this is a daft question. It’s a 1997 Willis bag - perfect inside, good condition outside but for the turn lock and leather around it. The leather is dried and chewed up looking, and the turn lock is badly scratched. Out of sync with the rest of the bag really. Can this be salvaged?

You can get a new turnlock but other than conditioning, there isn't much to be done for the leather.

I've successfully requested turnlocks by emailing [email protected] with the name and style number of the bag (i.e. Vintage Willis #9927). I am in the US so I'm not sure if they provide this service in the U.K. But it's worth a try.

Thanks for this. I was planning on doing a search for this info. I want to see if I can get the replacement female part of the turnlock for the little Penelope I just rescued easily. And cheap!

LOL I have been to a Goodwill outlet and found a Coach bag too. One of those Legacy ones with the big turnlocks and the stripey lining. I rehabbed it but have never used it. I find it very hard to motivate myself to go there. Just too much stuff to go through to maybe find a needle in a haystack! Good find for $1.29 though ;)
I love the stripey lining. When I bought the teal suede Haversack (which I used yesterday for a pop of color on a dreary day after all the fashion chat the other night!)I was also attracted to the striped lining .

If you are interested in rehabbing one of the coach solid perfume hangtag charms, there is one listed on Mercari for $3 plus $4 shipping, see links below.

I am not familiar with this site but they are offering the bvlgari refills for $8.50 - but you will need 2 of them.

I really love this bag - I believe it's a Broadway satchel, creed says made in NYC. I've put in a bid on it...any thoughts on whether I'll be able to get that giant water(?) stain off the bottom?

It's really hard to tell without knowing what it is. I've had good luck getting most water stains out but not all. Sadly I'm rehabbing a vintage rambler right now that I think is the mocha color and the water stain wouldn't come out no matter what I tried. I have given up and will live with it. It is a little darker in color than the one you're eyeing.

It's a risk. Some come out easily and others don't. You might be able to disguise the line with paint if it doesn't come out. It doesn't look like a Broadway. It might be a Madison satchel.

Thank you whateve. I think if it's cheap enough, I will go for it and see what happens. The description says it's a "moisture" stain...so could be anything. I wonder if something spilled inside the bag or it was put down in a wet spot? And looking at some more photos for comparison, I believe you are right about it being a Madison! I just love the shape...
