Before and after...this tan NYC Basic Bag. Bought a couple weeks ago for a good price. I liked the color and simplicity of it. The leather is so soft yet sturdy... It definitely was carried a lot in a prior life. That ink mark came out quite a bit in the bath. It was fluorescent green like highlighter ink. Luckily it's on the bottom! The bag looks a lot better now, but not even close to perfect. Comfortable and trusty is what it says to me

So yesterday I posted I would attempt to hit a few new-to-me Goodwill stores in hopes of a Coach deal. Two of them were a bust, lol. The third, well, I made a mercy purchase. It was one of those outlet Goodwills where, I am convinced all unsold bottom feeder Goodwill items goes to compost. Or whatever. If you have been to one, am I wrong?? So I could not let this little beat up, missing strap, busted hardware , squashed Costa Rican 9768 bag go unpurchased. I had to rescue this little bag. Set me back $1.29.

I have to be really, really in the mood to go to GW outlet on the other side of the county where I live. Like feeling like I need a thrift shop *fix* in the worst way. Usually on a Sunday afternoon when this one shop I know is closed. I end up finding needle in a haystack Pyrex pieces I need. I did find a lamb Lucky bag *that's still in my rehab pile*. I always feel like dousing myself in hand sanitizer when I leave though. And since I am one of the least germophobe people I know, be warned.
I almost didn't get out of my car when I found it and saw it was an outlet store.

OMG I know exactly what you mean about the hand sanitizer! Everything seems so dirty there. I always feel like a long shower.. I see many people wear gloves while they look through things there. Overall I just don't have the patience for it even though I am a crazy bargain hunter I have my limits!

Something that makes me mad at myself is when I'm really wishing I could find a cool bag to rehab and forget that I already have a pile I should finish instead! Right now I want to start keeping a spreadsheet of my purchases, as well as try and figure out what bags and boots go together with what outfits I have. I am always just going for the black bags and black boots and it's so dumb how many of my more interesting colored bags I never can be bothered using because I would have to think more about my outfit to make them work, kwim? I need to take the time to do that.

I have a spreadsheet of all my bags and SLGs. I have lot of boots in several colors to match my bags and clothes. Since I started carrying brighter colors of bags, my clothes have gotten a lot less colorful. I have tons of black and navy clothes, and wear a bright color bag with them for a pop of color. The bags I have the most trouble coordinating are brown or British tan, because then I feel like I have to wear matching shoes.

I stopped going to Goodwill outlets a long time ago. I just can't stand the yuck factor. I don't have the patience for challenging rehabs anymore.

Ooooohhhh, a Brit. I think if you listen a little closer, it is saying, *I want to go hang out with Lake* ;)
There have been a crop of reasonable BT basic bags online lately.

I found a burgundy pair of pumps I wear with just about every thing and I will use my BTs will them. And of course, I just have days when I say screw it and take my BT shoulder sac or Bancroft, no matter what I have on. Because I want to  And I just dare someone to side eye it the elevator at work lol lol.
I can't wait to go see Mom in Florida again. And go back to her GW. Now that was a clean GW. And stocked with Coach.

I agree on the yuck factor. I went to an outlet once to see what it was all about, but the one I went to was all junk. I don't have a need to go again.

I also particularly struggle with trying to coordinate my browns and tans. I really need some BT boots and I never can find any I like. A few times I have ordered some but they're never the right shade of tan. I should do the pop of color thing more too. I wear a lot of black but often enough still wear black boots and black bag anyway. Too much black!
