Has anyone tried to remove patina from British Tan leather? This bag’s trim is so dark-a little too dark for my taste. It’s been through a General bath and I lightly scrubbed the trim with blue Dawn but that’s it so far.

These are the before bath photos. Trim looks the same after.
The trim looks like a darker color, maybe burnt cedar. Not all AWL trim is British Tan.

I hate it when I get carried away with bathing and then loose interest in the hard work to finish. Several bags wait my attention.
"I will not start any new rehabs tomorrow."
Ah yes I know all too well... I am currently trying to talk myself into replacing the cleaned and polished turnlocks onto the cleaned bags and for some reason that final step has been procrastinated for a few days...; I could just do it right now... when I finish my cup of tea of course.

Maybe they have hopes after all. Lol @BT bags everywhere. I have the same problem. That's why they have to go. They are cluttering up space everywhere!
Yes, lol. I have an Oliver in BT that I bought last year that was only used minimally, in very very good condition. And I just got a Bancroft brief also in amazing condition. Then I have a few other used Brits in very used condition lol that cleaned up with a beautiful warm rich tone I enjoy as much as the 'new' girls, even with minor stains and scratches. I am sure there are buyers out there for those beautifully distressed Brits ; )

This! I need to have a Obenauf's and Blackrock day. And post pics here!

No rehab needed for this classic stewardess that was re-released!

This one doesn't need it work but does anyone know if the newer glove tanned leather respond the same way as the older leather?

The classic stewardess 9525 has been available many times over the years in glove-tanned leather and I have rehabbed a few of them and they all respond the same way.

This bag is one of the re-released lighter-weight version of the classics that was made in a more stiff and shiny leather that has a tendency to scratch easily. The style number for that stewardess is 17996 and it wasn't very popular; most folks preferred the 9525.

I looked at this bag at the coach boutique store when it was new and I preferred the older version.

I don't know what would lighten it. There was a trim color called Burnt Cedar (released circa 1995), which I'm thinking could be what you have. Example here:
