UPDATE:
so I got the oil, although despite being in a plastic bag, it leaked all over the padded envelope it was mailed in. But I called Amazon and they gave me a refund since a good portion of the bottle was gone.

Put it on the bag, but the color is so far gone, it did very little. Once it sunk it, you could still see where the color was completely gone. So i got the dye out. Really was impressed with how well it covered and how quickly it dried. Of course once i held it up at the window during daylight i can see some areas i need to go over again, and its a darker navy than I'd like, BUT considering i only paid about $13 for it, I'm happy with it.

So will work on it this weekend, during the day, and then condition and then it should be ready to go.

That's a bummer about the bottle leaking. I have ordered it 3 times from Amazon and it's come intact each time.

Great news that it helped a little, you can definitely reapply it if the bag is particularly dry and faded, just wait a few days between applications. I have been working on a skinny flight bag that is one of the dryest I've ever had. I have done 2 coats a few days apart so far and I'm thinking of a third right now. The oil instantly soaks in on this baby, and somehow the scratches didn't lift with a bath either.

DBF impulse bought this coach briefcase for $20 on eBay. We're looking forward to rehabbing it together. It's still being shipped so these are the listing pictures, but I was just wondering if there was anything in particular anyone could recommend for these pock mark-esque scratches. Leather cement? I didn't see anything similar in the last 10 pages!

DBF is also hoping to remove the oil stains(?), but I'm guessing I could find that answer somewhere in the thread! Thanks in advance :flowers::flowers::flowers:

I have some experience with cat scratches. I have glued them down with fabric fuse glue. I have done it twice now. It makes them much less visible. You have to have patience with that many scratches though!

Also, about the oil stain in the corner, prior to bath put some blue dawn straight on it and let it sit for 10 minutes or more. You might want to work it in a little with an old toothbrush or something. That's a pretty dark spot so it might need to be done more than once. Also, if it turns out it's not grease based, try straight vinegar on it. Last resort, I have tried spraying this stuff called mean green straight onto unidentified spots and it can sometimes work. Good luck!

Bath day for these British tan dirty old ladies!
