Thanks...it's been a crazy shopping summer.

Thanks soooo much for the catalog pics and photo of your Paris bags! My Paris bag is ready for Blackrocks today and I think will end up just a bit darker than yours...sort of what I'd call "dark denim." I'm gonna love this bag!
I haven't conditioned mine at all so I bet they will get darker! I am afraid to wash mine since it is already so clean in general, and that double walled leather sometimes doesn't re-shape itself well after a wash ya know? I am going to run a damp sponge and Lexol cleaner over the entire surface, then damp sponge "rinse" after, then put on some good conditioners and see what I get

I know a few people asked about different brands...

Question: would you soak a Perry Ellis white leather bag?
I'm scared the dirt would stain the lining (which is in perfect shape!)

So this isn't the PE bag I was asking about up there ^. It the 2nd one I bought.

I just went with a soak! Closed my eyes and hoped for the best!

You guys are right - baths are awesome!!! :graucho:

The bag looks AMAZING. I was scared because there were some brown dots on the flap, but all is well!
And this bag had a BLACK lining. no problems there too! :)

The only thing that did NOT come off was a pink stain on the bag (bag is white)
Any idea how to remove that?

I used dawn btw.

I need some help cleaning this bag. Firstly, pardon me for posting these gross images here.

This was my very first Coach bag that I got from an outlet a few years back. Over the years it has become really dirty because I use it all the time. I tried wiping it with some damp cloth but the dirt doesn't seem to go away. And the lining has gotten really dirty so now I am really shy to use the bag in public.
So I found out from Google that the bag is a Blue/Green (Teal?) Legacy Shoulder Bag (11127) :p. And Google also told me that it is a Vachetta leather and I should not use any leather cleaner, moisturizer on it.

Hope that someone out there can give me some ideas to clean the bag so I can use it again. Especially now that I know it's a Rare Legacy Stripe 65th Anniversary bag!

Hopefully I will get a chance to shoot some reveal photos later today...just a few more finishing touches to do. I have been obsessing over the flap...mine was pretty well creased, probably from storage, so I've been trying to massage it out. I've rehabbed a few bags with lined flaps and I'm definitely not a fan!

I recently rehabbed a Rose Legacy Leather Shoulder Bag. The reveal with a link to "before" pics is here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-clubhouse/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club-624452-628.html#post24815090

Only you can decide how you want to proceed with your bag. I tend to be a little more aggressive than other folks here, but I'm happy with my results. Hopefully others will share some of their tips. Good Luck!

I know coach offers replacement turn locks, how difficult is is to replace one yourself? I have rehabbed the bag but the turn lock is super flimsy, almost feels like it's about to fall off. Do they replace the straps also, or that something they don't do? This flap bag has really bad cracking across the strap, I've tried conditioning the poo out of it but I think it's just too far gone and just needs a new one.

wearing my navy for the first time today. I posted a photo in the "what coach are you wearing today" thread.

I would use craft paint to cover up the pink stain. You could try other stain removers first, but some might remove the white color.

Hi.

I posted about this in the Coach chat thread but a nice member (thank you Whateve!) suggested I try again here.

I collect vintage Coach bags. I use saddle soap and mink oil to recondition my bags and have had nice results.

A few months back I bought a beautiful vintage Coach musette in tabac that is lovely but, despite being regularly conditioned and mink oiled, continues to scuff very easily. The bag doesn't have any gouges or true scratches, it'll just get light scuffs from my nails or my rings. It's aggravating because I am unbelievably anal retentive. I'll sit down in my car, glance over, and see my ring has left a scuff I'll have to run back in the house to wipe.

Is there any sort of spray or finish I could use that would prevent this? Before I thoroughly cleaned and then oiled the leather it was very bad, it would scuff constantly. It is better now but, I'd be very happy if this wasn't something I was always checking and re-checking. This is my go-to brown bag so I wear it often...

Thanks very much for your help. I'm looking forward to enjoying all of this thread. I rehab bags often. Can't wait to try out some of these great tips!! :D

My rehabs have gotten a bit out of hand so that I have run out of room in the laundry room. Twinkie decided I put the towel out for his benefit. I bet he is wondering why there is a wet purse sharing his towel.

We're worried that the bright colors would bleed into the white background of the scribble. Has anyone washed one safely? I'll go back a few pages. I used the search, but it came up with a much more subdued color. This purse is primary colors and white.

I am not sure you can completely fix that. I too wish I could fix the same problem with my mahogany ? Carrier (similar to Musette but a bit larger) Once an old bag has gotten seriously dry it's harder to revive it too -(in my case just shy of dry rot). I put MULTIPLE coats of Leather therapy restorer and conditioner on this bag, slowly, and patiently, repeatedly for weeks, until the bag gleamed and is beautiful to look at, but it always scuffs and scratches. It doesn't bother me too much (I'd LOVE to have one in the color you have-my favorite color of vintage NYC!) YOu can rub with just your finger tips when you are out and about with no access to conditioner, Rubbing the leather with your hand helps tone down the scratched spots.
