Does anyone know if it is possible to remove nail polish from leather? I passed on a cute red Coach at Goodwill because it had glittery nail polish spilled on it. :/
About a week ago someone got a bag authenticated that had the word "love" written on it in nail polish! She was planning on rehabbing it. The glittery nail polish has particles embedded in it. I would try acetone first and gentle scrubbing with steel wool second.

Hi! I'm about to start my first rehab, but I have a dumb question. I have some Apple leather conditioner, but what do I apply it with? And it says to buff with a soft cloth. What do you experts think is the best for buffing? Thanks!

No question is a dumb question ;)....I'm still somewhat of a newbie but I've cleaned probably 40 bags or so.....I use gloves and massage the conditioner into the leather and then let it sit....sometimes 20 minutes, sometimes over night if I forget....then rub off with a nubby, dry washcloth...that's jsut the way I do it. Others may have a different way. have fun!

I have a question for the experts. A friend who knows I'm into coach recently asked me for advice on how to clean her bag. She told me she had tried to spot clean it previously. I took some pics of it. I told her I would check with the experts but that I thought she might just throw it in the washing machine. It's an MFF, and I got the impression she doesn't feel comfortable carrying it in the current condition as it looks fairly dingy. I apply conditioner with my hands, rub it in, and use a soft rag to wipe off the excess. I let it rest for several hours or overnight and then I buff with a kiwi horsehair brusch.

I used to use a rag to buff but the brush is easier to use and it really makes the bag gleam!

I would machine wash it. She can pretreat the stains. She could put it in a pillowcase and wash it with some towels.

Oh thanks! This one is really old and has no shine at all. Just bought leather CPR and a brush from Amazon. Two more bags on their way to me... I going to need supplies!

My mom has a khaki siggy Willis, and has gotten a bit of a pen mark on the leather near the turnlock. It's a tan colored leather. Any suggestions to get the ink off?
There are products that work on fresh ink. The sooner you work on it, the better the results. Someone tried Soilove with pretty good results. You run the risk of lightening the leather though.
