First I would wash and condition it. Then if you aren't happy with how it looks, you can buy leather dye, which is usually just painted on. There are several brands. There is real leather dye, like Fiebings, which is thin and hard to get on evenly. Then there is the Leather Refinisher. If you use Fiebings, you will probably have to go darker to cover up the stains. I think the Leather Refinisher would cover up the spots so you could try to get one that was close to the original color.
If the inside leather is vachetta (unfinished leather), it will darken at the edges when you wash it.

Yes the will send you a replacement hang tag. If they do not have the one that will match the leather they will send one that matches the hardware.You can call them @ 888-262-6224, they are very pleasant to deal with and super helpful.Thanks! Does anyone know if there is a limit to asking for hangtags? Over the past few weeks, I've asked for 4 (2 different calls). I ahve A LOT of bags and many don't have tags...
I have heard that there is limit but I haven't had problems, but then I haven't asked for many tags over a short period.
Can you ask a friend or a relative to call and request a couple of tags?
Yes, there is a limit. I can't remember what it is, but you might have already reached it. Do you live near a Coach outlet? I've had better luck getting the right hangtag there.
I do live near a factory outlet (relatively)....so, can I just bring in 5 or 6 bags and ask, you think?
So, I called the Coach outlet and the nice gentleman aplogizeed but said no, they don't carry the hangtags....decided to check it out anyway because they were having a big sale...I end up buying 4 different keychains (19 each) and a small wallet and a mirror for my daughter's 13th bday this summer (to go along with Madison Ashley I also bought for her earlier). I mention in passing to the lady ringing me up about the hangtags and she says..."We've got plenty" and brings out a big file cabinet thingy full of them and told me to help myself so I took 6 (didn't want to look too greedy)

Great! The SAs have always been generous with hangtags at the outlets I've gone to. It is much better than calling Coach because you are more likely to get what you want. I've never asked the outlet for hangtags but I have gotten some from the boutique. I will have to try the outlet next time!
