The leather plumps up during the rehab and I have seen the creed get a bit puffy looking. It may shrink back a bit with time.

The before creed looks genuine to me but I am not an expert. That is the style number for a rambler 9061, does it look like this bag? http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-763164-471.html#post24123380
Yes! Except this one says made in the United States and is made with brass. I had it authenticated but after the rehab, I had doubts.

I am getting pretty good at spotting fakes but I have been fooled several times so I try to get bags authenticated (and often I learn cool stuff about my new bag when I do!)

Looking forward to seeing your before and after pics!

Hi all! I just rehabbed my vintage coach purse, and it looks great! My only concern is that the label on the inside has worn out a lot after the process. I'm going to post some before and after photos.

Do you think this means the bag isn't authentic?

I've never noticed this with my rehabs except for those on lined bags where only the creed was the only leather piece on the inside. On those, the creed swelled up and warped. I found that hitting them with a hair dryer early on during the drying process seemed to help. I had one in which the creed was unreadable after the bath and it never got any better.

I don't think it means it isn't authentic. The creed looks authentic and if it was authenticated before the bath, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I have a Maggie in ocelot, made with the sateen fabric. It has a small stain on the bottom and I am wondering how to clean it? The stain looks like a small water mark, so I am concerned about not adding any more potential water stains. Does anyone here have experience cleaning the sateen fabric?

I have cleaned sateen with mild non-bleach spray cleaner and it didn't leave any water marks. You could test it somewhere it doesn't show first.

Any suggestions of what to do with this wallet? It is from year 2000 and was authenticated; I thrited it for $1. I guess because of the scrubbed area in the lower left hand corner. So, any suggestions...I'm stumped.

I have successfully used non-alcohol baby wipes on sateen, also coach jacquard cleaner, and sometimes just a mild soap and damp cloth will do the trick. Sateen looks delicate but in my experience, it has cleaned very well.

Thank you all so much for your purse rehab lessons & hints! We have really nasty well water so throwing a purse or even our clothing in the machine is a joke. I recently handwashed 3 coach bags, using "good water" & ivory soap..the insides were the WORSE part of the bags,,filthy, chewing gum & some funky odor Ive never figured out..anyway, the insides are pristine, brushed & washed them..put fab softener sheets,,then some tangerine oil on paper towels..wrapped in old towels...i ordered leather therapy, but it didnt arrive on time..so i found some nice product called "voodoo leather conditioner" which softened them up & killed the smell The bags were looking FAB, but after a couple of days I noticed that the dye had worn away in spots..& there are a few darkened areas..dots..Just ordered blackrocks..I'm just wondering if I overdid it..once the dye comes off then what? Do you think blackrocks will help?Ive been working on 1 "british tan' bag for 2 weeks..buttery soft, immaculate inside but spots are new..any suggesstions ladies? Should have quit while I was ahead..A quote from my painting teacher..."it takes 2 people to paint a painting..One to create the actual work..the second to hit you over the head with a mallet when you are done..." The story of my life! BTW..my black messenger is gorgeous,Thanks for all your dedication...I've got 4 NYC Coach bags to rehab then sell..kinda nervous about the off white one~just found out I need 4 new tires..plus? Need to pay mortgage as my husband is battling cancer...gotta get it right..keep everyone fed! Any advice is extremely appreciated...Thanks again..gotta keep keepin on..CHEERS! Sheri

For a dollar, you can afford to experiment. I don't think you can make it any worse if you wash it. Is the inside vachetta leather? I don't think you can make it look new again without painting or dyeing it.
