Here is the Coach Station after I put it in the washing machine. I used the delicate cycle with Woolite Delicate.

I also stuffed it with newspapers.

Wow that came out great! Why did you decide to wash it in the machine rather than the sink?

The sinks don't have drain stoppers where I'm living, nor are there bathtubs (student). Also, I did it for the sake of convenience. I actually washed it twice in the washing machine, once with just water and once with Woolite.

Question - how do you air out the pen slots in a Legacy Zip after bathing the bag?

I don't know how to quote a post from another thread into this one - I saw that Katev had done a beautiful rehab a couple of years ago on a Legacy Zip. I haven't yet bathed mine (need to buy a sink stopper first - I used the washing machine as a basin in my last attempt but it was very awkward to work with). The inner flap pocket has a couple of very narrow pen slots and I am concerned about moisture lingering in those and possibly causing mildew as the bag dries. How do you work around this?

Thanks for your thoughts!

I have bathed a Legacy zip and it didn't even occur me to worry about the slip pockets not drying. I didn't do anything special and didn't have any problem with them.

New vintage fashion TV show called "L.A. Frock Stars"

The Smithsonian Channel will premiere a new TV series about the vintage clothing business on March 7, 2013 but I've just watched the first episode on Infinity On-Demand.

The show centers on a Los Angeles Vintage Boutique that provides vintage fashions for the rich and famous. They claim that "vintage is the new black".

The boutique is called "The Way We Wore" and the owner has grown her flea market business into a multi-million dollar enterprise. The link below is about the show and I really enjoyed watching the first episode.

I've bathed 2 legacy zip bags and a briefcase that had a pen holder and I didn't have any problems with drying the small compartments.

I try to insert a washcloth into pockets for the first 24 hours of drying. I can't remember but I may have stuck a slip of paper towel into the pen holders. Sometimes I use pieces of toothpicks or wooden skewers to hold a compartment open for drying; but try not to distend the pockets and compartments too far because they will dry with a strange shape.

For the legacy zip, you can pull the section with the compartments outside of the bag and that facilitates drying. Good luck!

I just bought a dirty Coach bag from the bay (I live in nowhere WY so no other options are available to me) for $20.99 shipped. It is the same suede one katev rehabbed. I have never tried this before so I am really excited to try this!

Brown Suede Beaded Signature Tote 10442 (MSRP = $358)

It's a great bag, but buy some refined, filtered 100% pure Emu oil - and good luck!

Same. No problems...didn't even think about that possibility so I guess as long as there's general good air circulation, it works itself out

You could use drinking straws if you were very worried.
