I have a question not about rehabbing a bag because I'm too scared to try....but it's about a Coach Haversack. Would you ladies call this a medium or large size bag? And what do you think a fair price on ebay would be to buy one? There is a couple of pre owned and a couple of new ones on there.

tee hee...you might be competing against some of the people in this thread for one of those (not me though, I'm on a ban)

I would probably call it medium though, and the price varies quite a bit so it becomes a "how much is it worth to you" question.

I got a MFF Ashley satchel from the Goodwill for $2.99!!! It is worn in some spots. It's the Metallic Perforated Leather satchel. The handles are where it is worn the most. Is it worth trying to rehab? It's MFF bag so is the leather "cheaper" and therefore unable to "fix"?

I just realized that I should've asked my question here; trying to have my thread removed. Has anyone attempted shoe polish for covering the rubbed areas on legacy bags? I haven't had any issues but would like to have some on hand if this would work. I think that if you got a really close match that it would work but I've never done anything like that before.

I've never even seen one in real life. My history with Coach is only about a year and a half old. These bags look so adorable though...i keep looking at them! Thanks for the reply!!

I got one recently. The lowest I have ever seen them go is $70 if they are in poor shape. Depending on the color, you can expect to pay between $100 and $200. The pink seems to be the most available so you can wait for a good price on that one. It is a nice sized bag. I can fit everything I normally carry but I don't usually carry huge bags. The bag is pretty floppy in real life.

Most of us really hate shoe polish. I would recommend acrylic paint. It works great on leather and you can find a close match in any craft store or mix paints to get an exact match. What works best for me is to put it on and then wipe the excess off with a paper towel. You can also mix the paint with conditioner and apply it that way. I haven't tried it on the new legacy bags, just vintage bags, but I will try it when my legacy bags need it.

You should post pictures here of your bag. Katev has a thread on tpf showing how she used acrylic paint to cover the worn spots on her metallic Zoe. I have used a metallic paint marker to fix the worn silver straps on a glam and it worked great. I think I posted pictures of that on the forum too but I don't remember where.

I almost bought this LOL. Everyone knows I am a suede collecting gal! I have put suede in the washing machine. Others have too. But you can handwash it if that seems less scary. I use a sink full of warm water with a little Lexol cleanser put in it or woolite, or Leather Therapy wash. Then lightly brush the suede. I hope you get her looking good!!!
Thank you for the encouragement Jessi319! I must be feeling really confident because I just bought another suede one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-handb...hBfnyyMuH1Vx69qgWunHA%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Ha!!! I love a challenge!
Last night, after some research, I bought BlackRock and a suede and nubuck cleaner kit with the eraser and brush. I will use Woolite and do it by hand, at first anyway.......so I should just follow the instructions as they are laid out for the vintage leather bags, which seems to take a few days to dry and then I should brush when dry? Do I have that right? Thanks so much!

The reason I put bags in the washing machine is I think they rinse better. I would probably go over really dirty areas with a soft toothbrush before or while washing. Just some suggestions.

Which suede cleaner did you get? I bought Kiwi and I don't like it. I just bought Lincoln ez cleaner. Someone used it to clean ink off suede successfully. I haven't tried it yet though. Washing suede bags is pretty much the same as washing leather bags since the suede is just the reverse side of the leather. Yes, you should brush when dry. The only difference is that your bags are lined. Pull out the lining when you leave them to dry. Also I would blow dry the creeds because they tend to absorb water, swell and warp if you don't.

Thanks! I will have to look into this. I just ordered my conditioner, cleaner and rain/stain repellant from leatherstuff.com today. If I happen to get a light rub mark, do they buff out with conditioner at all? I've read that it helps with scratches.

The conditioner generally masks rub marks. Usually that is all you have to do for most marks. They reappear after awhile so it isn't a permanent fix. You just have to condition it periodically. For more severe scratches, most of us like Blackrock conditioner.

Awesome! I really appreciate that someone has been through leather issues, knows how to fix them and is willing to help. I don't have much legacy but I want to know how to protect the ones that I have and fix anything that might happen to them. Thanks!
