Okay, here is the British tan duffle sac I've been posting about - my first rehab! I don't have great before pics mainly just to show the issues, but hopefully you guys are able to tell the difference! I'm happy with the results because I was really worried about all the marks and now I can't wait to wear it! Thanks to everyone who posted great advice and those who enabled me by posting their own duffle pics!!

The first two pictures are before and after of the creed flap. It still needs some work, but alot of the marks were removed or at least lightened. The next four pictures are before showing the marks and the last two are after, one without flash one with flash. Thanks for looking!

Nice!! I have this bag, too, and love it! Such a great bag, easy to wear and holds everything. Looks beautiful!

The handles on mine are a wreck, very floppy, some small splits in the leather, etc... Have thought about using leather filler for the splits, but I'm not sure that would take care of the overall floppiness.

I believe someone on this thread had same problem ages ago. She took a syringe and inserted crazy glue to stiffen it up. Then you could try leather filler for the splits.

I have a bunch of bags with the same type of handles and the only ones I have trouble with are the two that are briefcase sized like this listing. Mine have splits in the leather but they aren't floppy. I am experimenting with Shoe Goo on one of the splits. I looked on Amazon and someone recommended waiting three days for it to dry before you try it out, so I am still waiting. I did it awhile ago, but I just added some more this morning. It is shiny so I think I am going to have to paint over it.

I am not sure what you mean by floppy. They have a very stiff filling in them. Did some of the filling come out? I think the Shoe Goo would help with this. The other place they could get floppy is where they are sewn on because the leather has stretched.

I have never worked with leather filler. I keep thinking about getting some but since I would have to order it, I keep putting it off.

ETA: I thought about crazy glue but since the handles are supposed to flex a bit, I thought it might not be the best option.

Can you put Blackrock or other conditioner on natural vachetta leather? What will happen to the color? The vachetta I am working with was water-stained so I sanded off some of the stain but now it is lighter than the rest of the vachetta. I would put it out in the sun if there was any. Can I use conditioner to even out the color?

I put Leather Therapy on my LV monogram Noe and love how it looks, honeyed patina. Am debating about using the Blackrock on top...

If I'm not mistaken, it's cardboard...
Multiquote isn't working :( If it is cardboard in the handles, I would guess if they got really soaked they would eventually get floppy. When I hold the handles, they kind of bend/bow rather than keeping their shape. I am going to try and fill in all the splits with leather filler and see if that reinforces the handles enough. The stuffing is still inside the handles....my leather filler should come this week and then we will see.

There is an amazing thread about layering Blackrocks and Obenaufs LP on natural untreated vachetta and darkening the leather over in Louis Vuitton land on here. These ladies were treating all vachetta LV's, and the bags turned out amazing!!! Since an all vachetta LV is not in my budget, I am going to try it out on the natural Willis when I can find a good one on ebay. I am not sure about only doing one spot though. I am wondering if you could do it over all the leather and the lighter spot would end up blended in.

I hate the way the vachetta leather spots with water. If it were badly waterspotted, I would dunk it first. It kind of evens everything out, let it dry then apply leather therapy maybe 2-3 times. Then Blackrock's 3 times over 3 different days, then to make waterproof, 2 coats of the Obenauf's over 2 different days. I did this with my vachetta Dooney as well.
