I need to rehab my dear SoHo Signature Pocket Tote from 2005, in black jacquard fabric this will be my first, should I wait and try another bag first? Opinions, comments...

Others may be more knowledgeable about this particular bag . I haven't tried washing Signature Jacquard. I'd probably try the Jacquard fabric cleaner Coach has first? and just spot treat? How bad is it? Any photos you can post inside and out with any particular issues?

definitely air dry! Not sure if dryer would hurt, but wouldn't take a chance when good old air is proven gentle ! I worry about drying out the leather otherwise. Not to mention banging the hardwear around. ( I suppose inside a pillow case might have been possible). I air dryed her, but I have her sitting outside for further airing since there's a faint smokiness to her...ugg

Soooo...I put the suede bag I am rehabbing in the dryer. But only for about 20 minutes, and with a big comforter. I then brushed the bag out, and she is air drying the rest of the way. She was in just long enough to get some of the excess moisture off her.

Yesterday, I took a lighter to a bag. Today, I am shoving suede in the dryer. Yikes.

Any preview thoughts on how she handled the washer? I have so many other bags needing rehab besides Coach and I haven't trusted myself yet to wash them because I don't know if they are as tough as Coach bags have been proven to be!!

So far, the bag looks great. It handled washer and dryer just fine. In fact, I think a quick spin in the dryer helped the nap to fluff up. The other suede bag that did not go through the dryer is stiffer, and will need more brushing.

This is a fabulous thread! You have truly inspired me :) I just joined this forum after purchasing a Coach vintage backpack for my granddaughter on ebay. It looks a little rough from the pictures, but I have no doubt it will serve her for years to come. I've gotten some great ideas how to begin with it's 'rehabilitation' from your forum. Can't wait for it to arrive...

How nice!! Looks like a nice bag to start on! Good luck!!

Some super easy rehab jobs. Not a lot of difference from before or after, because they didn't need much.

My Bleeker wool tweed bucket before. I paid $13.50 for her, and she had her original paperwork and registration card in the pocket. Just a bit flat, some color loss on the bottom piping, and the wool was wrinkled on the back side:

And here she is, dressed up for a day out at the park. I didn't give her a bath, because I wasn't sure what would happen to the wool, and she was in such good shape. I basically just wiped her down, ironed the wool, conditioned with Lexol, Blackrocks to the piping, and declared it done. There's a small ink mark on the lining, but I decided to leave it alone, in case my efforts made a small problem worse. <3 this bag!

Bleeker bucket after:

Another easy one. This was authenticated for me by Hyacinth, as a "Compact Pouch style number 9620 from the mid-1980s". It's a NYC bag, and I was very excited to find it, because it was in such good shape. Pretty much no scuffing anywhere, the edgekote is intact, and the turnlock hardly has any scratches to it. I paid about $30 at Savers, which is more than what I wanted to spend that day, but given the condition of the bag, I decided to go for it. Here she is before, dry and dusty. No hang tag, though. :( Boo:

And here she is after. I gave her a bath just to reshape her a little, (she was only a little squished). I think I am going to give her another conditioning, because she still feels a little dry, but already her color is much richer.

Great job on both! That Bleeker bucket is really fun and classy at the same time! The Compact Pouch is so glowy now :)
