I don't have any good thrift stores near me either. Even in the nearby cities that have Coach stores, there aren't any Coach items at the thrift stores. I think that if they get any, they never make it to the sales floor.

I used to live in Plano and I bet there are great thrift stores there. I remember that all the women used to dress up just to go shopping at the mall. Today I went shopping with my daughter. She was wearing yoga pants with boots because she was too lazy to wear anything else. Then we noticed that many women had on the same outfit. No one dresses up here.

That may be what happens to any Coach items here too. . . Sigh. . .

You wouldn't believe it, but some of the women here actually go to the store in their pj's and wearing their house slippers! I mean the fuzzy slippers too!!! It still shocks me!

Yes I've also gone shopping in the Allen/Plano area with my dil. Everyone was quite dressed up and most carrying either Coach or LV bags. If you did that here, you'd probably get mugged! (Hmmm, guess you'd be pretty safe in pj's and fuzzy slippers though!!! LOL!)

That's great news whateve! Will the bag she sends be the same style bag or a different one?
I'm pretty sure it is the same style and color. She said she has had three of them over the years and just got a new one and that was why she was selling the old one. Some people do this but not me - I love getting new styles and colors.

I see quite a few women wearing pajama bottoms shopping here. A few with fuzzy slippers too!

I also like a new styles and colors. Bad thing is I would like ALL of the new styles and colors! ;-)

I don't understand it but I guess if they're ok with it. . . . (At least they are covered up!) (@_@)

I have actually seen them walking around downtown Chicago wearing pajama bottoms (no fuzzy slippers, yet!) I hope that they are not going to work dressed that way!

Won on eBay for $14 + shipping. This one took longer to rehab because there was broken and unraveled stitches as well as the bag being quite dirty and smashed! There is a small area on the front of the bag that had a gouge and I did fill it but it still shows some. Not sure what to do or if I'm being too picky. Any ideas?

What an amazing difference! What did you use as a filler?

Thank you AggieK!

Thanks katev. I used e6000 on a toothpick to fill the hole. That stuff is really stringy and hard to work with but after it dried, I used a very fine grit sandpaper to smooth it a little. Still was sort of "lumpy" though. I evened it out with thin coats of acrylic paint, let it dry then conditioned it and finally added black rocks. It's not perfect though so that bugs me!

I would have preferred to use leather filler but I can't find it here anywhere. :-(

I don't think that you could have done better, honestly. I mean, maybe taking it to a cobbler would provide other options, but it looks great IMO!

Awww thank you! I guess I'm too much of a perfectionist - at least that's what I've been accused of! :eye roll:

I finally got my Stewardess bag today. I'm amazed how much verdigris is around and under the hardware. It gives "going green" a whole new meaning! I've removed the closures but what can be done about the green i know is under the feet? I don't see any way to remove them to clean under them. Any suggestions?
