it wasn't me but I did follow that auction. At least it didn't get bid up really high.

Not me! I was watching it. It isn't even rare or that old. That leather looks like it wouldn't clean up very well.

I was considering it, but it went to high to bother with.

Haha I watched then decided against at the last minute, mainly because I didn't have chash in my PayPal lol

I am still regretting that I've invested $3 and a lot of effort into this distressed bag! Hopefully, I've learned my lesson and will be able to walk about from such challenging rehab projects in the future!

I've learned a lot by fiddling with some of the really bad ones, so I don't regret them. I've gotten sort of attached to them too, and I've been experimenting on my City Bag so that's also been fun.

Katev has done so many bags though, I don't blame her for walking away from the bad ones.

Maybe it's because I'm newer, but I sorta like the tougher ones. More of a "OMG" factor at the end. I'll take that $3 beat up beauty of your hands!! :graucho:

I felt that way in the beginning, but after spending a lot of effort on trying to rehab bags with disappointing results, I am trying to be more selective and walk away from some of the worst bags but I don't always manage. I should have left that $2.50 black Janince's Legacy behind because I am going to have to dye her. I've just got too many bags (including lots of sad cases!) waiting for attention in my rehab pile now!

Just did my first hand wash. While doing a damp condition on both the lightweights and the court discoverd some stuff. Ink, on the lightweights and shoe polish on the court. Ick Ick Ick. So into the tub they went, after a vigorous brush scrub with foaming hand soap, followed by hand santizer on the lightweights. Nasty. So,scrubbed them both down again inside and out, rinsed, drip dried and just got done stuffing them. The hardware still looks great tho.

That's true, I have learned a lot from the failures.

But one of the things I am still trying to learn is when to walk away! :D

hi again experts! this is my second question for this forum since i'm too shy to ask and well, my english isn't really good. before knowing tpf, i had been using Dove body moisturizer 24-hr deep care complex for my coach and non-coach bags. this product made my bags really soft and plump with a nice sheen. i am hoping you would try this also on some of your experimental bags and report back on the results please. problem now, may i know if there is a long-term side effect on using this substitute leather conditioner please? thanks in advance.
