After her last Black Rocks application, I'm ready to call Little Miss Pigpen complete. :)

Here's before...

Here's after...

Before...

After...

I did some spot treating with OxyGel and dunked her using Dawn Power Clean. Two applications of Leather CPR, one application of Cadillac Boot and Shoe Care, and finished off with two applications of Black Rocks. Hardware polished with Wright's and Aleene's Fabric Fusion used to reattach a split hang tag.

The brown is a great warm and rich shade - perfect for autumn. Gotta say...she cleans up good!

I'm giving this bag to my mom. This will be the classy older aunt for the Kristin hobo I bought my mom for her birthday earlier this year. :P

I love that bag...the color is soooo pretty!

Here are the pics

The inside is REALLY clean I think

A lot of the darker spots is scuffing I think. I haven't had the chance to wipe it down yet. I think it's such a classic bag so I can maybe live with the scuffs. My grandfather gave me some white leather conditioner so I'm going to try that in an inconspicuous spot to see if it helps. I think it would be really pretty if I can get it a nice bright white again (which I think it originally was). I want to try the other suggestions as well with the paint and see if it'll cover up the majority of the big scuffs.

I have this bag in Camel! I love it. Such a cute little bag and super comfy to carry. Good luck with the rehab - I'll be pulling for you!

Thanks!! I gave it to my mom last night. She loves it and moved into it right away. She said she can't wait to show it to the girls at work, along with the before pictures, so that they can see the work of "The Purse Whisperer" as she's now nicknamed me. LOL.

Hmmm. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

Yeah it basically is that same shiny/rubbery looking coating you see on your edge straps of some bags. It goes on very thinly so it takes many coats to look like it does on purse strap edges. It works well on straps and edges to finish them off or to fill in straps that started cracking. I don't see that as much on older Coach bags, but newer bags sometimes do this. Because it goes on thin, I have also run it along the piping around a bag at the corners where they scuff and get bumped (mahogany or black bags mostly)- only if I am satisfied it will be a good color match. I try traditional conditioners first before using that as a last touch up if needed on the bottom corners.

I see. I'll have to get some of this! Do you buy yours online?

You did such a great job on this! I love the idea of giving rehabbed bags as a gift.

I have bought it online..can't remember if amazon or ebay! But I also have a Tandy Leather store within driving distance, close to a favorite thrift shop I occasionally drive out to , and they carry it also. IT is SUPPOSED to have been made in LOTS of colors but I never see it sold in all the colors.

What if you were to put a drop of fabric softener in the rinse water? Would that help so it doesn't dry stiff as a board?

I thought about doing that with the suede bags I've washed. I probably would if I do it again. I think the only risk would be that it would darken the leather. It so diluted its hard to imagine it would make much difference though.

What do you do if the nubuc is dried out? Does the water just kind of condition it?

I had this bag in the hobo style that I ended up returning. I got it from ebay and it reeked of smoke. I paid $150 and the smell was strong so I didn't rehab it at all because I paid too much for it to be in that condition. It was dry and I wouldn't have hesitated to put leather cpr or apple on it if I had kept it. It seems fairly sturdy. I suppose there's a chance it would darken the leather but since its vintage anyway, I think it would look fine

The pond vintage satchel that I own is regular leather, not nubuc. Coach made this style in both. I think the blue and tan versions are nubuc but the other colors are leather.
