I picked up this bag yesterday for $5 at the Senior Center Thrift Store and Hyacinth kindly checked her out for me. She is part of the Chelsea line, no style name yet though. She is made of Nubuc (that is the way Coach used to spell it I guess).

When I searched for cleaning Nubuc on here, I didn't get much back. Anyone have a success story to share? Any suggestions are welcome :)

For those that may not have used it before, I wanted to share a pic of my Station Bag strap post-Edge Kote. I bought a bottle in neutral and this stuff is gonna last a while!

I applied with an artist sponge brush. Doesn't take much at all and dries with a shine to it. I really like it! I'll be using it to seal the paint touch up I did on the underside of my Watermelon Tote handle as well. This stuff is way lower effort than the paint/conditioner mix. Thumbs up recommendation from this rehabber!

Hi,
I'm not very familiar with Edge Kote. I've heard it mentioned but don't know what it does.

Can you clue me in? :D

Awesome, awesome job! How is the Cadillac Boot and Shoe Care different from Leather CPR and Black Rocks, basically what was your purpose for inserting it in there?

Not much purpose, really. It's just my go-to conditioner I use on all of my bags. I like the consistency (a bit thinner than LCPR) and it adds a nice sheen without having any silicone or wax in it, plus some protection against waterspotting. So I usually do at least one application during the rehab rotation. Learned about it when I bought my MJ Blake and have been a convert ever since.

I believe it's basically a sealant of sorts to use on piping and edging. I first heard about it in relation to AW Rocco bags to help protect the piping from wearing down. Worked great as a finisher on strap edges!

I made a thread but I will post here.

I got 2 yard sale bags. One for a buck! The MFF for $15

How do I clean the leather bag. Upon further inspection (i swear there are more marks when you bring the things home!) It is very scuffed. What can I use to clean it and fix the scuffs? Anything?

Also the MFF has a red stain. I think it might be kool aid or crayon. I have ivory soap and have used Dr bronners soap to get out stains. Is that okay?

How about cleaning the bag overall? Just a damp cloth?

Would a Mr Clean eraser work on the leather to brighten it up?

That is the Chelsea vintage satchel from 2007. It isn't really vintage, but Coach called it vintage because it was supposed to look vintage. I have no idea how to clean nubuc. I would try to get rid of those ink marks first. If all else fails, there is always paint!

I responded to your other thread. Other than the dye I mentioned or fabric paint, I don't think there is anything you can do to disguise those scuffs.

Nubuc gets cleaned like suede.

which in my neck of the woods means washing machine...I think you should be able to condition it a little better though. It doesn't look that dirty in the pix, except for the ink, is it really that bad? It looks like the ink is under the flap?

Great deal on that bag. If the ink is the only problem I probably wouldn't wash it, so I'm kinda kidding...I suspect that will come out of the washer looking more vintage than it went in. However, if it was over all dirty and you're going to have to get it wet to clean it, I would probably just go with the washer.

Here's what I did with my white bag. I'm sure it's a different shade but it might help give you some ideas.

I think in this case a Mr Clean eraser would just remove more white and make it worse.

It photographed well :p It is filthy! Is there an advantage to using the washing machine versus washing in the sink (this is how I have been doing all my glove tanned Coach bags so far). So no conditioner post wash?
