More great rehabs! I like this one the best - the shape is lovely, and the dark area near the magnetic closure is just adding warmth and history to her.
Funny - I like my brand new bags to be in perfect condition, but I like the usage markings on the older ones, and don't think of them as dirt, but as history and adventures

I know what you mean...I'm real finicky with a few of my bags, the older, well-preserved ones. But I do appreciate a well-loved, richly deserved patina...if only they could tell us about their adventures!

That's good to know about Lexol if I ever get around to rehabbing my D&B bags!

You might reach out to the moderators, like Vlad, for advice. I am trying to get info about a lovcat wallet without any luck right now!

I'd like to find some free time to visit the Smithsonian and see the Hope Diamond!

Thanks for the info...enjoy DC...I worked at the Museum of Natural History during summers when I was in college, and moved to northern Virginia after I graduated! Saw the Hope diamond every day (drool!). Have a great time!

I'm out of town again (Washington, DC) so I may never finish the 3 red bags I am rehabbing! But now that I've washed and conditioned them, the convertible clutch is a dark burgandy color but the small shoulder sac is darker and looks purple/eggplant.
that's a burgandy bag. I have the square bag with the buckle front and also the basic bag w/o the handle in that color it was around for several years.

Hey All...three ebay auctions later, I finally managed to get my Lula's Legacy Coach bag! [No..I didn't get the pet hair encrusted one] To my surprise she arrived in pretty good shape. The only thing I can see wrong is the drawstring has lost some color, probably due to opening and closing of the bag. Since this part is not removable, anyone have any tips about the best way to get the color back? I think I'm going to give the purse a bath and polish her up. I will try to post some pics later in the week. TIA for any tips.

I would use Blackrocks as that darkens the leather some. At least 2 coats, maybe 3 with a 3 hr dry time between coats.

I'm afraid lanai-land is just about closed for the season...it's just getting to be toooo stinkin' hot & humid out there (I'm melting...)! Gotta bring the rehab operation indoors for awhile.

I spent yesterday afternoon on the patio conditioning bags and relaxing. It's gorgeous here. The good thing about our climate is if you stay out of the sun, it's very comfortable.

I'm tired of conditoning leather. I actually have four bags actively in progress...the red swinger or whatever she's called, and strangely enough, three white bags.

I think I'm going to end up having one major unforeseen issue with the red bag. The leather is softening pretty well with leather CPR, however there is what I assume is another piece of leather between the lining on the inside of both kisslocks. In otherwords, if you open the kisslocks, the back side of them is lined, and the inside of the bag is lined. There is a smaller piece of leather between those two linings that the inner kisslock is mounted on. I noticed it before I dunked the bag-it feels like cardboard, and there's no way to condition it. As long as it doesn't deteriorate, fine, but if it does, I'm not sure what will happen to that inner kisslock.
