Here are the after pics of the Slim Clutch Large 9555. I washed it, conditioned it, and treated it with blackrocks and polished the hardware with Wenol. I used acrylic paint on the inside pocket to minimize the worst of the ink spots.

I took it to the cobbler and showed him how I thought the pull strap was supposed to look. He just said that he would fix it; but when I got it back I realized that I had it wrong and he had it right! He turned the strap it right-side-out, folded the ends around the zipper pull ring, and then stiched across both parts of the strap to secure it. I guess sometimes you really just need to ask a professional! He charged me $8, which is the same amount I spent on the bag - but it was worth it - so my total cost is $16.

This bag is also unusual because there is a hole punched in the side near the zipper to accomodate the hangtag chain. I tried a couple of brown hangtags but they were the wrong color so I finally decided to use this goldtone tag.

I have plans for using this bag myself and I am very happy at the way it turned out!

Awesome!! This is exactly how I thought the strap was supposed to go! Wonderful bag!

Anybody wanna see my Coach babies??? Quite a few are rehabs I've done. Sometime over the weekend I'll take photos of my as yet untouched rehab pile.

I decided since my living room is still bare from the post tornado work being done, it was my best chance to have space to line everybody all up! I guess I kinda understand why my DH is a little annoyed with me LOL. I am kinda new to the Flickr sharing thing, so let me know if this isn't working!!

(Darn I hate being at the very BOTTOM of a thread page) LOL

I would love to see it but it is asking for a password or some sort, do I need one?

WOWOWOWOWOWOWO!!!!!

I ADORE your collection!!!!

DId you fix up any of the tan color bags? How did you manage to get them looking so good???

some (like the Bonnie little shopper) I considered too delicate and/or "good enough". But, I did wash and condition the little camel colored crossbody satchel bag. Also the Rambler bag and the Postal Courier. And the Janice Legacies. The photos don't show all the flaws that I left alone, but I tend to like a bit of a vintage "patina" left on the tan and brown bags. I"m not an overly aggressive rehabber. So-- they aren't perfect. But, cleaned and conditioned and polished where possible. some of them were done quite some time ago, so I need to do a little touching up. I don't like working on red bags either though I love the color. I only had one that washed well ,a Lula's Legacy which I sold a long time ago (kinda wish I hadn't. Otherwise, if they look "good enough" I just Lexol clean and then condition them. My next photo project is going to be the rehab pile that I haven't touched yet. You'll see my work is cut out for me..big time!!

Wow, very nice. And we sure do like the same stuff. I even have the same MFF black duffle!

haha. Yes that bag is super boring and very useful and durable!! It's the perfect crossbody for me when I need to carry slightly more stuff that day. I usually "bling" it up with a nice fob. I can be rough on my "work" bags so I don't feel like I have to baby this one with its pebbled leather.

I have taken a big step :blushing: and purchased a pretty beaten up British Tan purse online to refurbish. It has a couple of large water marks and it will be my first try to bath a leather purse. :sweatdrop:

Those of you who have successfully rehabed a Tan color leather bag, would you chime in to share your tips? :chatty:

Thanks so much!!

Congratulations! I have had mixed success in rehabbing tan-colored bags. At the link below you will find information about several that I worked on. I gave them all a bath and even put some through the washing machine!

When you get your new bag please post pictures and we will try to advise you, or do you already have pictures from the online auction?

I will post photos when they arrive (yes they). The web site photos are not very good and I frankly expect worse conditions.... It was the gambling girl inside me that did this... LOL!

Yup, it's a good basic bag and it comes in very handy. I have my I <3 my doberman (not Coach, of course) key ring on it.
