Glad you got at least one tag! The handfull of times I have shopped at my Coach outlet which is 20 mins away, nothing ever really appeals to me. I have bought 2 bags but I sold them within a month. The leather just isn't the same. The good thing is I can buy several vintage bags for the price of one outlet bag and personally I think the vintage quality is much better Can't beat that!:smile1:
I totally agree! I found one bag in the store, a pale gray Erin bag that had good quality leather. It was 50% off $600. The quality was not that great! I won a beautiful bag on Ebay today I have been stalking for a few months. There were 2 on there, with BIN of $99. They showed wear, so I hung on. Someone posted this one last week with a BIN of $50, but I bid and only wound up paying $26. I am ecstatic as it looks brand new, and yes, I can get more better quality vintage bags for my bucks!

I would really love to see your bal city bags please?? What colours are they. I know they are not Coach, but still....

I went to the Coach outlet store yesterday and came away with one gold hangtag. The sales associate looked at me like I was from Mars when I told her I rehab old Coach bags. I'm sure each of the 3 bags I took with me were older than she was. I looked around the store and only saw one bag there I would have spent $$$ on. They don't make Coach bags like they used too. Anyway, was happy with the one tag as I didn't buy anything, nothing ventured, nothing gained...

If you go to the search fiunction at the top of this page, their is a search members list function. She is on page 7 of the Ns

Hey! I have a favor...how can I contact nefariousmuze? I have a very unique bag that I put on the AT thread right after I joined. Hyacinth was unable to identify it, as there is no Coach identification. I saw one on ebay years ago that was identical, and had the old metal COACH lozenge tag (sadly, mine does not.).

Maybe Lisa could help me...I can provide a link to the authentication request.

Thanks in advance!

Believe it or not, I never liked the Bals. Someone posted a pic here of the Hamillton leather in Bordeaux and that did me in. I love it. Purple is my fav color, and they came out with a dark violet I had to have, that was Bal #2. I will look for a good price on a used Sage green, as I am banned from new Bals for now. Those 2 were my Birthday & Christmas presents to myself! I will post pics when I get a new laptop, due to ship tomorrow. I am having problems with my current laptop posting pics. I love my old Coaches though, no better quality for the money...

I am working on one like this at the moment - not this one, and am using almond oil on it with some success. It sinks in really nicely and quickly and has restored the bag to what I think may have been it's original colour. Does anyone have one of these bags/ know anything about it. I haven't posted in the authentication thread yet. THanks

Thanks, the colours sound divine! What a great birthday present. It's my birthday on Wednesday and I bought myself an orange kisslock tote. It'll arrive way after the day, but I am really looking forward to it. It may be my last for a while too - no more space and the aussie dollar is dropping so cost is going up.

I won one of these in an odd color, seller described it as off white, I was all set to paint her. When she came she is more of a very light tan. I like your color better. She is sitting in my pile of rehabs. Has anyone here used acetone as a color remover? I bought this bag on Ebay a few weeks ago. The seller described her as olive, which was fine by me. Turns out, she was black, at least her inside pocket still is. Anyway, I want a darker, rich brown. She is pretty faded all ready, will acetone take the rest of the color out? I know everyone says black bags are easy, but at 56 I just bought my first black bag ever in the last year. I just love browns, tans, oranges, greens, reds...

I love orange, and a kisslock to boot, I am jealous.

I'd like to see the before and after pics. I tried Blackrocks on my kisslock tote and it didn't really darken it. You can still see all the scratches, stains and color variations. I have been waiting for someone braver than me to try minwax in brown before I take that drastic of a step but I just might take the leap.

Yes, I had one that was a NYC bag. In one of Coachs pamphlets they referred to it as "The Original Coach Bag". Similiar to but a bit smaller than the more current Patricias Legacy bags.

I purchased a Station bag with matching wallet. I gave both of them a much needed bath. The Station bag is drying nicely. However, the wallet and checkbook insert are staining my towels. I could not get the water run clear during the bath and I stood there for a good 20 minutes rinsing it. It is British Tan. Any suggestions? I am a little concerned about using the wallet for fear of getting it wet and staining things.

Thanks! Jill

Thanks for the images. Now I can see the colour that mine probably was/ should be. Yours looks like much pebblier leather than mine, although mine has lots of veins and scars in the hide

No problem. I will try and post some pics today. I used lanolin on my burgundy kisslock and that seemed to darken it quite a bit, although I'm starting to think that the leather is actually going back to more like its original colour as I get it into better condition. I have also used a leather nourisher and a conditioner, emu oil, and just this week end almond oil on this tote. Unfortunately I am trying so many things it's hard to know what is working the best.
