Ok, so we have permission from Mona Lisa Creations on E-Bay to use her Bonnie Cashin photos for an archive, now we need to create an archive... I need help with this because I am not familiar with starting threads or anything on here... her photos should really get it started, and possibly we can also ask for her help with collection pics from her collection... And she is a TPF member...

Dear angelaira1,

Hello! I'm also the TPF (username is nefariousmuze) so of course you can use my photos for the archive. My only request would be that you provide me with the link so that I can see and enjoy the other bags you have featured :D

I'm a huge Bonnie Cashin fan and collector - with more than 100 unique pieces! She's my all time fav designer :)

Best,
Lisa

Hey! I have a favor...how can I contact nefariousmuze? I have a very unique bag that I put on the AT thread right after I joined. Hyacinth was unable to identify it, as there is no Coach identification. I saw one on ebay years ago that was identical, and had the old metal COACH lozenge tag (sadly, mine does not.).

Maybe Lisa could help me...I can provide a link to the authentication request.

Thanks in advance!

I just clicked on her seller name on e-bay and sent her a message there. I also gave her the link to this thread so perhaps she might answer here, I do not know...

Wonderful--I have seen some of her beautiful pieces I think on Etsy at one point.

Hi all. I need advice.
I bought a black vintage Willis. It is in beautiful shape which is why I got it. I was too afraid to try doing a rehab.
I wore it today and my husband showed me some black was coming off on my white Tshirt!!!!
I have rubbed abd rubbed every square inch of it with a terry towel but some still seems to be coming off!
What should I do?????

Nice job. I love the final colour, it's so rich

Here is the whitney bag i was concerned a while back about dunking. Well I got brave and just went for it since the bag was to a point where I wasn't going to carry it in public looking like it did. All I had was plain green dawn dish soap so that's what I used.

First picture -Before - The huge spot on the bottom was probably a water stain. It was like that when I got it. The spots on the flap got there while i was using it. I *think* someone dribbled coffee on it while it was in the office at work. I used to always sit it right below a shelf where people sit their coffee cups.

Next couple pics she is getting a bath. The water was pretty ucky.

Last picture is after 3 days of drying and 2-3 treatments of apple conditioner.

It's still not perfect. if you really look closely at the right angle you can still see the huge water mark that was on the bottom but it is now FAR less visible. The flap came out completely clean again.

I feel like this bag is now usable

I'm pretty sure I saw that second one on Ebay in the last couple of weeks, and not at that price. Interesting comment about the quality of Cashin for Meyers

Hi everyone! I've had a busy couple days and I haven't responded to a couple things I should have, but I wanted to drop these two items off before I forget. Of coursd NMÀ.

Nor is this:

I thought many of you would be interested in looking at these. I almost dropped em in the ID thread because I thought they were interesting for refrrence purposes . I dont know all the rules of this forum but it would be nice to archive the pix somewhere (with the sellers permission). If anyone is interested in taking that on, I'll probably never get around to it so jump on in.

Also I should say that i looked seriously at that satchel for a few minutes but now that I have had my hands on a "Cashin for Meyer's" bag, the quality is NOT the same as coach. Still.looks like a nice bag ghough.

Hey, great price! I am working on the straps of my burgundy one - they have small cracks along the top of them and feel a bit soft rather than strong and sturdy. I'm trying almond oil as recommended by docrides thread. Let me know how yours are when you get them please.

Oh my gosh, I just got another kisslock tote for a ridiculously low price... This one also needs a piping repair... my bags always come in groups, ink stains, now piping repairs... What is the best way to repair piping??

I will let you know how the straps are when they arrive, I bought almond oil yesterday and have put it on a couple of my dryest bags to see if it improves the condition, I was disappointed that it didn't smell like almonds though, lol!!

Here are the after pics of the Sonoma Sling. I replaced the missing strap with a chain strap from a thrift store purse.

Oh! I have a similar one of thse, never knew the name, that I carried until it almost bit the dust - it was the perfect minimal bag!

it has been on the rehab pile because of strap issues. Any suggestions anyone?
