Hi there! I found a couple of beauties on our Community FB site. It looks like at least one of them will need some rehab. Does anyone know anything about these bags? I am going to go look at them tomorrow....

Thanks a bunch~ Jill

The first one is a Coach Regina 9983, you can see an e-bay listing for one here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...WH_Handbags&hash=item2ebe03abea#ht_500wt_1216

The second one is a coach Daypack 9960, you can see a listing here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Backp..._WH_Handbags&hash=item2570354a3e#ht_914wt_966

The third one is Coach Mercer collection twill, but I am not familiar enough with that kind to tell you any more.

I cannot tell from these photos if they are authentic, but at least you can kind of look at other ones and get an idea. You could take pics and submit them to the authentication forum (see the forum for rules and necessary photos) and Hyacinth will be able to tell you if they are the real deal.

I just didn't have the energy to drag them all out for a formal portrait today, so I shot 'em where they live...and did a little photoshopping!

The ones on the right side of the horizontal shelf have been authenticated (Hyacinth has been wonderful!) and rehabbed. The ones on the left (slumping) and most of the ones on the vertical shelf are in line for authentication and most will be rehabbed. And on the floor (which I had scrubbed just for them!), all but the Day Pack have been authenticated. Of those, only the Mercer Computer Tote hasn't had a bath.

Oh yeah, did I mention the belt collection? BeenBurned has graciously authenticated all of them over the last week or so.

Thanks everyone for teaching me how to care for this brood...there's lots yet to do!
Gorgeous collection!!!

They have no additional pictures with the inside shown. I was reluctant to bid on it for fear of the term "encrusted", but I would assume that anything stuck on or caked on would dissolve in the washing machine? I have been wanting this bag for a long long time and the outer appearance seems pretty nice. It has the cowhide lining, so I would assume that it's the easiest to give a good machine washing. I truly appreciate all the tips and photos that get posted by everyone.

BTW...can I move into your closet? I promise to return any "borrowed" bags!!! :graucho:

So far, I've not washed one in the machine, but even a good soak in the sink seems to make all the difference in the world! The cowhide lining is very forgiving...I scrub mine with a toothbrush while in the bath, and have been lucky in removing lots of stuck-on stuff.

Thanks for the giggle about moving in...a good way to start my day!

Oh my goodness! What a collection, and we get to see all those other rehabs too. Hooray! Is that a lilac coloured bag in the rehab section? I'm still in awe here.

Yes, the little lilac suffered a little pen swipe right on the front, before I got her...Have taken some off with a white eraser. May rehab after I get a little more ink removal experience. As always, thanks for your compliments!

Here is the whitney bag i was concerned a while back about dunking. Well I got brave and just went for it since the bag was to a point where I wasn't going to carry it in public looking like it did. All I had was plain green dawn dish soap so that's what I used.

First picture -Before - The huge spot on the bottom was probably a water stain. It was like that when I got it. The spots on the flap got there while i was using it. I *think* someone dribbled coffee on it while it was in the office at work. I used to always sit it right below a shelf where people sit their coffee cups.

Next couple pics she is getting a bath. The water was pretty ucky.

Last picture is after 3 days of drying and 2-3 treatments of apple conditioner.

It's still not perfect. if you really look closely at the right angle you can still see the huge water mark that was on the bottom but it is now FAR less visible. The flap came out completely clean again.

I feel like this bag is now usable

Hi everyone! I've had a busy couple days and I haven't responded to a couple things I should have, but I wanted to drop these two items off before I forget. Of coursd NMÀ.

I thought many of you would be interested in looking at these. I almost dropped em in the ID thread because I thought they were interesting for refrrence purposes . I dont know all the rules of this forum but it would be nice to archive the pix somewhere (with the sellers permission). If anyone is interested in taking that on, I'll probably never get around to it so jump on in.

Also I should say that i looked seriously at that satchel for a few minutes but now that I have had my hands on a "Cashin for Meyer's" bag, the quality is NOT the same as coach. Still.looks like a nice bag ghough.

The first seller had a bunch of vintage Bonnie Cashin stuff new with tags and super high prices last month... She is on Etsy too... I drooled over all the pictures for a while... I will contact her and see if I can use the pictures.
