Your rehab job was awesome. I am also rehabbing a willis bag. It is not in as good condition as yours was to start. Yours looks like new. Great work? Don't you just love the hardware on this bag and the dowel in the flap? I can't wait until mine is finished!

Here she is after Apple Conditioner and Brasso polish.

I got it!!! It's much better than I was expecting. No major stains as I thought I would be dealing with, denim is awesome. Any great advice for that Vachetta leather?

I'm so excited....I have 2 smaller bags, but I fear they will not get used now.....this one will be carried from now on....

What a great bag for your first rehab project. It looks very good, just needs cleaning. I'm not an expert on rehab. I've done about 10. The trick with bag is worrying about the leather coloring bleeding onto the fabric when you give in a good bath. I had that happen with the same color leather that bled onto a white microfiber fabric. The white was really dirty and needed washing. Your denim looks pretty good. They will probably advise you to use a good leather cleaner on the leather use a damp rag to clean the fabric. You just probably don't want to saturate that bag. (Now I'm sounding like I'm an expert...I'm not. I was just the first one to respond. :smile1:) There are some good saddle soaps I discovered that work good on dirty handbags. I didn't notice my bags being darkened by cleaner either....but again, wait for the others to respond.
Apple Care leather conditioner is great when it's time to condition. You also want to add a protectant to this light colored leather after you condition it. Some ladies buy these products online. Patience is the hard part.

Congratulations on new find. Lily bags are very classy and timeless.

I've never rehabed Vachetta leather but I know that it requires special care. Do a search on TPF on Vachetta and see what you find. Great bag, good luck!

there are a couple of threads on TPF with vachetta legacy bags that have been given baths with good results aside from major dye running. I would start with a careful Apple application and go from there depending on your results.

Ladies, you are going to have to help me. I am trying to rehab a few purses and made a horrible mistake! I used a magic eraser (very lightly) on an ink stain and it took the color off of the leather! HELP!

Very nice Lily! I've never tried to rehab vanchetta, so I'm no help there. Hopefully someone else who has done it will pipe in. Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing the results! :smile1:

The Dinky Bag and the Casino Bag were for my mom, I have them to her yesterday and she was very pleased! The "After" pic of the Satchel includes a mini-skinny that I bought for my mom to use with her bags, but she already had one, so I guess I'll just have to keep it for myself :) The Nicholas Drawstring *still* looks and feels a bit dry (I put probably 10 coats of Apple on it already!), so I think I'll keep conditioning it for a while until it becomes as supple as I would like, but I will use it in the meantime, it looks really cute with the little crocheted fruit fob that came on one of my other Saks bags.

I've had a lot of fun with these bags, Thanks for looking!

So tell me which Apple leather conditioner you used? I'm going to try alcohol-free baby wipes on my Vachetta leather. They were also recommended to me by my shoe repair guy. He said that they would just clean it, but that I would still have to condition it.....The denim is perfect, so I'm not touching that.....My leather just needs a little moisture he told me. The diaper wipes would not darken it he also said....Anyone have experience at that?
