COACH Quality Issues

WOW! thats bs. i just got a melon peyton wristlet on ebay a few weeks ago and the color rubbed right off in a spot and it is a yellowish white as well. i am sorry about your kristin what a shame its such a beautiful bag. this is my fear of the newer bags none seem to be dyed well. the color faded and rubs right off.

Honestly, it looks like they just spayed painted it. I never had it happen to my older bags. Yes, some of them have little scartches but underneath is the same color as the color of the bag, not white. I hope they will give me my money back...

yeah i agree! thats terrible. they need to dye the stuff with penetrating dye. i dont think they are. ive got a nwt bag im almost afraid to use it scared there will be issues with the color of it since its a "newer bag". geesh maybe we ought to stick to fabric lol.

I had many issues with fabric bags in the past two years. LOL! We just can't win. My Jacquard fabric bags kept fraying (including a black Carly).

I have had issies recently with the Mia Maggie in Ocean Teal. The first one I got had numerous threads - on the topstitching and around where the handles were sewn to the bag - it also had glue left on the silver rings - one of the hanging threads got pulled and some stitches came loose. I took it back - it had been 1 week so they gave me a new one - after 10 days I looked and the underside of one of the handles hand come unstitched - so they gave me bag #3 - when I got back to my office I saw that they hadn't put the edging paiint or whatever they call it on properly and on one side near where they sew the handles the inside section of the bag was higher than the outside - at thuis point I was not happy - especially because I really loved the bag and the color.
I had done all of my dealings with one Coach Store and at that point we mutually decided that perhaps I should try a different style - so I now have the Kristen small hobo in the blue color - I like the fact that you can use the moisturizer and cleaner on the Kristen leather. Hopefully I will not have any more problems with this bag.

I must say that all the associates were very nice about my problems and I have usually had very positive experiences with the staff at the Coach Store.

We expect good quality from COACH since it is an American company. Things are just falling apart too soon these days. COACH needs to rethink about quality and not quantity these days. I've read way too many quality issue posts on TPF. Evidently, many other TPF users have the same issues.

Did Coach always use to come out with new bags every month like they do now? I started buying at around 2007, I can't remember that far, but it doesn't seem like they used to put out new bags all the time like they do now... What was it like say 10 years ago?

It was *nothing* like this. Coach had the classic bags and various legacy bags (with a new style here and there), and a new line every few months, but it was not so trendy and at-the-moment.

I agree, kinda. I do like the variety we have now, but it seems to be at the expense of quality. Though honestly, and this might be a result of shopping way, way less than a lot of other TPFers, I haven't experienced these issues personally.

i haven't experienced (much) of the quality or have seen it while i was there

but i can tell you that the factories that make it do not belong to Coach. coach designs the products and work with the factory in terms of materials, cut, and overall production but the factories are owned by individuals (a friend's family actually owns one of them)

and it is definitely correct where coach used to come out with floorset maybe four times a year, it wasn't until 2006-2007ish that they decide to come out with one every month. reed's idea. in a way that is the model that a lot of companies have adapted, more stuff placed more frequently to get customers back into the store, coach isn't the only one but definitely an early adapter but where things like these are concerned they always were--with technology and their website page and how they do business. its part of why they are successful and why they are a mass market brand.

I was the original poster of this thread. Quality has been slipping at Coach recently. My Sophia and Kristin had inside pocket issues. Sophia inside pocket ripped after about eight (8) weeks of gentle use. Kristin Hippie was worse, inside pocket ripped after six (6) days of use.

Has anyone had problems like those in the past? It is so frustrating. We pay good prices for our products and they should last for a long time.

One of my friends has owned her Coach wallet for seven (7) years. She uses it daily. Her wallet is finally falling apart.

Wow.. that is awful. Did Coach correct the issue for you?
