COACH Quality Issues

Leather products are generally fine. I have a leather wrislet and two patent leather mini skinnies. They seem to be fine. No more Jacquard fabric products from COACH.

Sounds like leather is the way to go. I have just started buying Coach bags. I first bought a mia cvt. crossbody in leather and I love it. I went to the outlet Sunday and bought the same bag in jacquard fabric with the outline C's. I took it out today to put my things in it and the zipper has issues. I looked at it in bright light and the zipper is all wavy and keeps catching at a certain point unless it's forced. Now I have to make a trip back to the outlet and return it. I was thinking of exchanging for the same bag if they have one, but after reading this thread I think I better stick to buying only leather. The leather bag was only $20.00 more, for the slight difference in price it makes sense to buy the leather. I'm so disappointed because I really liked that bag!

Similiar experience. I bought a jacquard style tote, that i really liked.
Returned it because, it started to get a hole in the corner. I got a leather
tote and paid $20 more. The leather is made nicely. So far so good.

Recently, I had an issue with COACH leather wrislet. It was very disappointing since I enjoyed organizing my small items in that Graphite leather wrislet.

I really though leather was the way to go until my recent leather issues. All corners had discoloration after only three months of use. It was placed in my handbag with great care. It was very shocking to me!

Ugh that stinks.
I think Coach should re-inforce the corners of their handbags,
with a small leather trim.

Well there may be some quality issues but I certainly have noticed the same with many of my other bags. At least with Coach you can take your bag in and get a replacement, another bag for the same value, or a percentage off. I don't think a lot of you realize that if you are not happy with something, you should take it in! Don't sit at home and complain about it because nothing gets solved!! Coach stands behind their products and thank goodness for that because I have taken in my Louis Vuitton bags for quality issues in the past and most recently a Burberry wallet and for all of these I received horrible customer service and zero effort to fix the problem other than options that involved me paying a couple hundred dollars more when they were clearly quality issues! Coach just does not have that policy and unless you just have horrible SA's in your local store, they are normally overly accommodating to quality issues and the happiness of their customers. I definitely will continue to buy Coach bags and Louis and Burberry will never see my business again, which is fine with me since their bags are more expensive anyways!

Coachkdm, I comletely agree with you.Coach has an exellent repair and return policy, while some more expensive brands do not stand behind their products.I have a Louis Vuitton bag, that I am not sure I want to repair. They want almost a couple of hundred dollars for fixing the handles (and I only wore that bag for one season).
I can buy a real nice FP delete bag at the outlet for that!

Yes, good point. You are right about Coach's excellent customer service.
I recently had no problem with a exchange. But for me, I really liked the
first purse I had purchased. I exchanged it for a another purse different style all leather. My first purchase was the purse I really wanted.

COACH has a good exchange and return policy. There is no doubt about it. Personally, I had too many quality issues in the last two years I owned COACH handbags and accessories. COACH key fobs and charm are very durable.

IMO, LV stands behind its products and services as well. One of my previous LV wallets was sent to repair a few years ago. My product was brand new and my local LV boutique had a very friendly SA who checked the date code and sent it in for free repair. It was still under warranty. It took many weeks for LV to repair my entire leather panel, but it returned as "Made in France" panel. That wallet was made in San Dimas, CA originally. That was the only issue I had with LV since the early '90's. :D

I've had issues with every bag I've bought over the past 3 years with the exception of the Legacy Ali (FP version). The patent shoulder strap cracked on my large siggy hobo after a few months of light use and started to come apart.

A wristlet with a leather strap also started to completely disintegrate. I was just at the outlets this past weekend and honestly it makes me nervous to buy anything. I hate sending things back for repairs.

the thing that bugs me about coach lately is it seems they are making sooo many new bags and designs so quickly they dont put enough effort into producing them to actually last. i feel like they think we wont use the bag long enough for it to matter before buying another new one! i could be wrong but this is just the impression i have gotten lately.

I agree! They used to make them to last. My blue krisitn satchel is showing white on the corners on the bottom... I used it three times, and I take a good care of my bags. So they just painted the leather blue and now the color is rubbing , chipping off. So is that how a $498 bag should be made? They make them cheap these days.

WOW! thats bs. i just got a melon peyton wristlet on ebay a few weeks ago and the color rubbed right off in a spot and it is a yellowish white as well. i am sorry about your kristin what a shame its such a beautiful bag. this is my fear of the newer bags none seem to be dyed well. the color faded and rubs right off.
