COACH Quality Issues

^^ ITA! Especially with what we pay for these bags! I had an issue with fraying on the edges of my Sabrina! The SA had to agree that it was not wear and tear! She sent it back to Jax, but still, I NEVER had this kind of trouble pre 2006. Now I will never buy a non leather bag from them again. I may even just switch to a different brand altogether. :(

I agree quality has gone down. I had to return my Convertible zoe that I loved because after 2 weeks of use it started fraying on the bottom after a month it has spread. It wasnt horrible but it was noticeable enough to me. I was scared of what it would look like 6 months from now.

I have a blue signature daisy tote that has started fraying. I am very careful with my bags, and never rubbed it against anything, but it has started. Whiskering, I call it. Threads just hanging out the side in a spot of about half an inch.
Now it's my beat around bag. I use it on rainy days or places where it is not appropriate to take a fp.

Hmmm... so far, my quality experiences with Coach have been good (and I've bought the vast majority of my collection since 2009). I buy almost exclusively leather, though, so I couldn't offer a good opinion on fraying. So far, no stitching issues... hopefully none arise!

Leather products are generally fine. I have a leather wrislet and two patent leather mini skinnies. They seem to be fine. No more Jacquard fabric products from COACH.

You know one thing I have been thinking about is that I used to be a dooney girl before I switched to strictly Coach and I must say:
Yes, Coach has better looking bags BUT I NEVER had a problem with my Dooney bags. I never had to use the warranty. The only problem with the dooney's that I was aware that other people were having was the yellowing on their white bags but that's something many brands have a problem with.

Agree I still have one from 10 years ago looks great

I suppose everyone had different experiences with COACH. When we paid hundreds to buy a designer bag, we expect our bags to be durable. If COACH can't have decent quality control in China, I will boycott it for good.

I think it's not so much quality control as it's a switch to cheaper and lower quality materials. The leathers aren't as nice, the fabrics are thinner, the zippers and hardware aren't as good, so it's not so surprising that there are more problems when the bags start to get used.

I never had quality issues until this summer when I bought the large gold leather Kristin hobo. I used it for less than a week and the leather started flaking away in places. I took it back and exchanged it for the black leather one; no problems since.

i believe the quality has gone down over the last 2 decades. back in the early 90s the quality was great. i don't care for the current coach items but i recently went to the outlet to browse and found a glove-tanned leather duffle (in camel color) that i really like and the quality almost reminds me of the late 90s. these glove-tanned leather bags are very rare now but i am glad to see that coach still makes them. i've moved onto other designers now since i seldom find things i like at the coach store these days..

It always baffles me when I read threads like this...i've been buying Coach for over 3 years and I have never had an issue with quality. I have had many different styles in different materials and no problems.
