COACH Quality Issues

it seems the last year or so the hardware is 'nt as thick and solid. I bought the peyton big melon drawstring in the spring and the dog leash wouldn't stay clipped to the bag. $500.00 purse kept coming apart. So I looked since then at coach in stores and noticed the hardware is less substantial. I love coach but I keep reading about bags peeling and flaking and cracking and etc. Sad, Iv'e also noticed and bought a number of great Brahmin bags...

I thought my leather wrislet will not have any quality issue. Boy, Was I wrong! All corners of my graphite leather wrislet have discoloration. I only owned it since 6/30/10. Three months of use shouldn't wear that out so quickly. I'm disappointed with COACH quality again!

Sold most my COACH items to prevent future quality issues. There had been way too many in the last three months. Personally, COACH is not inspecting its products before shipping them out. They are making too many without any quality control.

I agree that quality control is an issue...returned a Maggie bag in January due to sticky zipper issue...Coach Jax told me to put OIL on it!!!!!:wtf: SA at the store agreed that was NOT the solution....

IMO quality of the leather has declined from the gorgeous Legacy collection of hmmm.. 5 years ago...now is thin and cheaper looking...the gathered Sophia leather bag is beautiful though...

As matter of fact, I only started buying COACH products since summer of '08. Most of my Jacquard bags had fraying issues.

I can't believe JAX rep told you to put OIL on your sticky zipper. That was terrible!

Did you return that bag with a sticky zipper?

i haven't had to send a bag in for repair since the legacy leather tote (brought and replaced with a new one in 2007) with the turnlock pocket in front and side zipper pulls-- i have brought a few bags since then but haven't had a problem and i am super picky as well as use it (carefully) on a daily basis..

I purchased a tote jacquard style, from an outlet.
I had it only one month, in the corners at the bottom
it started fraying and it had a small hole. I kept
my receipt and exchanged it, for a leather tote.
I really liked the style of the jacquard, but I didn't want to
take a chance, with it happening again.

All my coach bags are leather with the exception of my large sabrina which is fabric and that's the only one I've had an issue with. The stitching from the interior pockets have come loose and the middle of my two pockets are now pulling away from the bag. I baby and rotate my bags often so there's no reason for this to happen. It kind of deters me from buying fabric bags from them.

Sadly, I agree. My sophia (black/gold) has come loose at the handle. I just placed an order for this bag last monday and it arrived on Thursday...I wore this weekend and today (monday) and its going back. I will try it again and just exchange it, hopefully there won't be any further issues with this bag.

I've had issues in the past with Patent Leather peeling but nothing regarding hardware, stitching, etc. I hope Coach reads this and look into it. So far, nothing is happening with my new bags and I have been using them. So far so good.

I had a black patent Zoe (FP) that had some small pieces peeling from edges. I got rid of her. Now I have a silver patent Zoe (FP) that has some stitching starting to come up in two small spots (not noticeable to most, but it is to me). I am sitting here debating if I should wait for it to get worse or take it in for repair. What do you think?

I just ordered the black croc carryall- I really hope there are no issues with it.

I never had issues with any of my legacy bags....

It may not be noticeable but you need to at least bring it back and let them know what's going on before it gets worse.

Maybe you need to take your black patent Zoe to COACH FP store. After all, you paid good money for your bag, it shouldn't do that. It is totally up to you.

I'm sure COACH had many returns and exchanges due to quality control issues recently.
