Coach took my Sophia back. I have to make another trip to my local outlet to return a rare find Kristin Hippie black leather with silver hardware. I thought I got an excellent deal on that product. Boy, Was I Wrong!![]()
Wow. Well glad they took it back. I will give it to Coach though on the customer service. They do gave a great return policy and service. Sorry you had to bring them back.
You have had a run of bad luck. I have never had to return anything due to quality issues, but I have seen some bad quality at the outlet. It really made me mad when Coach decided to sell a whole batch of purses that had the logo attached upside down. That is when I considered giving up on Coach. However, I'm not new to Coach and I have had a horrible time recently with the quality of Coach items as well. I have just recently went through 7 universal cases, one elephant key fob and a small Madison leather wallet ordered between Macy's and Coach.com and I just decided to give up and not have anything right now.
Three of those cases were The moonlight Poppy Signature Lurex Universal Tech Case Black/Silver with black patent leather trim. When i received them in the mail one was sewn terribly crooked, another the patent leather was peeling off the strap and the third one had something sharp inside the case between the lining and the outer material.
Then I figured maybe they had a bad batch with this certain one and I opted for the Julia Universal Case in black nylon signature fabric. The first one had so much overspilled glue on the front that it looked dirty and the second one's outside pocket was sewn really crooked.
So once again they went back and I opted for the champagne metallic embossed leather universal case. The first one had a chunk out of the leather on the front and the second ones strap was coming apart. After that I decided to forget it and not try anymore.
I received the elephant fob with a cut in the leather over his eye and the wallet was damaged when I received it as well. Actually there was nothing that I was able to keep out of 9 items and that just shouldn't be.
I have been very let down with this new quality of Coach that is being passed to the consumer. I used to be able to place an order and know before I ever seen it that it would be in pristine condition when I received it. Here lately I place an order and "hope" it will just be decent. I still love, love,love, Coach but I sure miss how it use to be.

I don't think people are too picky. There is no reason why you should not expect a perfect product when you are paying for it. And their motto is "commitment to enduring quality."
Oh that would be so frustrating! I am glad you finally got a Flagship tote that was ok. I would be afraid to use it too :wondering I buy Coach because I love their styles and colors but I will say I love quality over quantity and would take a few less styles for the quality to come back. So sorry for your friend and her gathered Sophia. I really like that bag and have been on the fence of purchasing one but due to my recent run of luck I have held off. Thank you for telling me about your experience. Hopefully that will be the last of our bad luck.I have had problems with Coach quality as well and because of that I now almost exclusively carry LV. Its such a shame because I love the look of Coach bags and the different colors and styles, but everything seems to fall apart so quickly! I purchased an Ash Dowel Flap months ago (some of you may remember this) and I had to exchange this bag 3 times before I finally gave up. They had threads coming apart, rips in the leather around the handle, missing end caps on the laces...just ridiculous issues that should have been caught before they left the warehouse! I ended up exchanging it for the last time for the Flagship tote in the same color. I used that bag for about 1 month off and on, maybe a dozen times total, and the turnlock on the front pocket...which I NEVER touched because I hadnt put anything in the front pockets, broke apart! The piece you turn literally fell right off the bag! I couldnt believe it! I took it back to the same store to exchange again and the store manager was so rude...saying I must be very hard on my bags for them to have so many problems since Im always buying and exchanging...UMMMM NO! your quality control is crap! I was so offended, esp. since this store manager and I have done business together for many years prior! I baby my bags and dont even touch them unless my hands are washed, much less throw them around and treat them roughly! Anyway, the point of this long, rambling story (sorry) is that I still love Coach and cant stay away (although I drive out of my way now to go to a different store) even though I have had such a hard time lately. I did end up getting a new Flagship tote which seems to be OK so far, although I havent used it much cause Im afraid! And I did FINALLY find a perfect ash dowel flap that is OK so far. I still use my LV almost daily though since Im paranoid about Coach bags now! I love my gathered Sophias and havent had any problems with them, although my co-worker has one and just about every pleat has fallen apart...so sad. I guess its buyer beware. Thankfully Coach has a wonderful return policy...thats the only reason I still buy them!
