Nuts, I missed this morning's episodes on the WGN America channel. They'll be around again eventually.
The Emmy winning olive Kitteredge HBO miniseries features a coach cashin kiss lock tote. It seems the only bag the woman ever carried (except for a wedding)
Another Murder She Wrote sighting but this time carried by one of the suspects. The episide is from Fall 1991, and the Parrish character played by Andrea Thompson was carrying one of the Spectators. I could only see the side of the bag, it could have been a Roll Bag. There was no mistaking the hangtag though. 
I think I might have got one!!! College-age Beth on This is Us looked like she was wearing an older style Coach (in a scene set in the 1990s). I had noticed it the last time the show flashbacked to her several weeks ago and she was on again this past week and I got another look. I cannot find any good photos online of her that show the bag (just the one I'll post here where you just catch a glimpse) but I pulled up a scene and took a screen capture.

Had two vintage coach sightings this week! Both are older movies. First up, a small crossbody in "Crossing Delancey" (1988) I think it's a shoulder bag, as it seems to have a slip pocket on the back of the bag (at first I thought it was a convertible clutch). Watch when Amy Irvings friend pays for hotdogs in the youtube clip (it's at approx 1:05):
Also grabbed some terrible screen pics:

Second up - "Honeymoon in Vegas" which is from 1992. Sarah Jessica Parker carries a beautiful duffle that no ones pen has exploded in.

Hah! I had this idea to make a list of 1980s and 90s movies set in New York and get them out of the library to watch for vintage Coach. "Crossing Delancy" was on my list but I hadn't gotten to it yet. Good find! I think it could be a Convertible Clutch because of the way the bottom corners bend in slightly. It could also be a Pocket Purse.
Great find, amazing bag! She's only 5'3" but she carries that bag well.

And you’re not kidding. It’s like carry on luggage. Frontier Airlines would make you check it (and pay for it) or pay for it as a carry on.
But my guess is for the scene it’s stuffed with newspaper.

Early product placement? All the young successfuls back then. My intro to Coach was my sister getting a Basic Bag while she was in grad school at Columbia in the mid to late 80’s.
I probably need to stop eating in front of the tv and get outside ....but spotted (what is I think is ) a compact pouch carried by asst DA Kincaid on an old Law and Order epsd from 1995:

My sister was interviewing at some NYC firms around the same time and she started shopping for coach. So yep, I'd say it was a sign of the times
