I don't know but that's totally understandable to me. Sucks that it happened but they do keep tabs on customers that seem to be buying too much. Even if 20% of what you bought was to sell on ebay then they have the right not to sell to you if you don't go by their rules so to speak. I used to work at Tiffany's and they would do the same thing, they were always on the lookout for people buying too much and selling on ebay.

oh wow, i just spent a good hour reading this thread and i am completely shocked!
i understand that coach corp. might see ilia as a reseller and such, but not forewarning her about her buying habits at coach, and then not responding to her inquiries after sending her a letter seems like a very rude thing to do =S i was planning to buy my sister a coach bag for her bday or something but i might have to reconsider that...
i am curious to know... since this happened half a year ago, have you had any more contact with coach?

I'm sorry but it seems to me that both parties were at fault here. I think you would be considered as a reseller, because even though you aren't collecting a fee, you are still selling their merchandise cheaper then how it is over there. But then COACH is wrong to do this without warning, and avoiding you.

coach corp never warns...

but if you consistantly go to the same store the SAs or managers should, i mean, they told you about the three item limit rule didn't they?

the girl we banned was told, and she went ahead and brought all those bags anyways.

i think that coach corp is missing the fact that coach can still be brought at department stores as my manager saw the girl do once she was banned from our store.

i have no idea whether coach corp got her banned from there to, i think that's unlikely.

as well as one being banned from all stores across the us, especially if you pay by cash and refuse to give your information, or give someone else's...

there's all sorts of loopholes, it just depends on how badly you want it.

I think ebay has given many companies a reason to rethink their policies. During the big MC craze at LV there was a girl that was told she could never buy anything else MC because she bought two bags. LV has banned MANY people for buying too much or for being suspected of reselling. I know Hermes has done the same thing. I guess they are just trying to protect themselves, maybe if your lawyer was to write a letter explaining the situation it would make things better?

Me too - recently went into a coach store and had a terrible experience - the salesperson did not know the products and was being very rude. This is a surprise to me as I thought of coach as a respectable company that cared about customer service. it is just VERY SAD that these terrible things are happening to people :yucky:

Dooney and Bourke has had that same policy for years! Nothing new...it is the pits, but how it is.

Totally in agreement with your stance on the Coach made in China crapola...then standing behind the US flag. Not a likely story for me anymore!

Welcome to the world of LV....

All the best to you and your husband...hope he is back from Iraq soon!

And I just want to say - What they did to you is completely unfair and disgusting! You followed the rules and they have the audacity to say these things to you and do this!

You should not feel bad at all that they want to be rude and have an ugly corporate image out there. We will all spread the word - not sure if you ever got a chance to go to your local news stations about this.

I think that local news stations would shy away from the story due to litigation concerns. I doubt that Coach would allow anything that they deemed slanderous to the company to appear on television.

iliabags I agree with selena (5th post) the ultimate insult would be to return all the bags you still have. Not only that but I think this story is fascinating I'm sure you can get this up in like newspapers and stuff, it'll look pretty bad for Coach =)
