All of these businesses are so paranoid about loss prevention issues. Some marketing geek somewhere decided that it's not a good idea for someone to buy too much because *gasp* they might be doing something sinister!

The thing is, if someone like Carmen Electra (who is a well known Coach fanatic who BUYS her bags, is not given them) were to spend that much, they would never give it a second thought.

That truely is horrible customer service! LV would never do that to a customer and the no comment thing is making me even madder! No common decency at all! I really hope you feel better!

According to one of the other threads in this forum, LV does limit customer purchase . . . however, they seem to be basing their criteria for limitations on race, which makes me kind of mad.

I wonder why she doesn't get them for free? :weird: I remember reading something where she bought like 3 cerises speedies. Why do celebs buy in bulk? Maybe they resell? ;)

They can call me what they want. I did not set up a store or anything.... I spent about $5-8K a month sometimes more...

Like I said, I would ship it to my family in Taiwan, I have 10 aunts and 4 siblings, not to mention a gangful of cousins....

I would give it to them and they would repay me. Haven't you had a friend pick up something for you? That's all. It's really not that much since each bag keeps going up in price.

YES, I ABSOLUTELY bought only their limit. I was very careful of this.

Is it resaling.... I think if I set up shop or something. But I did not. I would pick up things for my family, their friends would ask for some. Like I said, I never marked it up. It was just therapeutic for me to go on these shopping sprees even if I didn't keep any of it.

GOOD QUESTION... Can they do it?

I took the letter to my lawyer...

They can do whatever they want in their stores he said. I can file for racial discrimination but stores do have a right to who they serve.

But what bothers me is that they just weren't up front with it until it was too late.

And then NO ONE will help me understand why.

And the consequence is so severe, nothing like just a cut back. But NEVER AGAIN am I allowed to go or my husband and friends (if I am with them).

You think I did something illegal like shoplift...

oh, well....

I feel better already, I don't need them! They are two faced to me.

Where do you live that you have a lawyer actually say you can go for racial discrimination but the stores have a right who they serve-why wont he/she accompany you to the store with your bags for a refund? Also, the limit you mention-your ebay auctions feature 2 that have quantity of 10. I am confused.

geez, i never knew stores could do that! Esp. and international label! that is really terrible! i totally agree with what some others have said, return your stuff... jump over the fence and shop at LV and throw in some balenciagas too!!!

This is one of the most bizarre stories! Ilia - you are buying from a full priced Coach store, right? And if you are buying so much and not returning - it is so incomprehensible that they would do this. I would think they would just love a customer like you!! Not the other way around! I'm so sorry to hear this - what a slap in the face!

FYI to all, an article on how some financial analysts view Coach:

huh? its not like you're buying then later on returning or exchanging it.

you're a paying customer and you're giving them business.

i dont think coach should limit your purchases.

Wow! I've never heard of this before. You should email this thread to corporate and see what happens!

Yea, that is a good idea.... I might just do that. Not just my thread but from others, Coach is losing points fast with most of us. Especially with their prices! And their principles and lack of respect. But I like your thinking mello! :)

uh...why can't you just go to a different Coach store and pay cash?
unless they have WANTED posters with your photo on them posted in every store

We thought about it. But there is nothing we want that bad to step foot in there again!

ROTFLMAO! Can you picture that! Do not sell to this woman! She buys to much! LOL
Not making light of your situation but that is funnY!
Selena

Actually, I asked around (called other Coaches - since I am banned from both outlet and Retail) and they said they have a list in their back room of all the people around their area that are on the list. And I think it is in the computer system. My name, credit cards, and address, you know how they always ask those things? They had it on the top when they gave me the letter at the store. So they have my info.

I am going out of town this weekend so I might test it and see what they say....

However, why are Coach bags so popular in Taiwan?

All my cousins in Taiwan are way too in love with Coach. I guess it's very popular over there right now. I know they mark up their bags 30% more than what they sell here in the US. Not many people can afford Coach bags and some will even buy fake ones from the night markets. It's quite disturbing to see "Goach" bags with the signature "G" instead of the "C". They all heard of the all great mighty Coach outlets in the US and that's why many of them will ask me to buy them some when I go back for a visit too. :push:
