I know I’m so nervous trying myself & making anything worse but I’m also nervous taking it somewhere & they damage it! - I was hoping someone might have had a tried & trued ‘magic’ treatment - I read lemon essential oil works really well? But I was nervous about that as well! lol - I think someone experienced in luxury goods/bags might be my best bet! That is a great suggestion!
Please do NOT use essential oils (or any oils) on your bag. They will darken the nylon permanently with grease stains! Nylon is a woven fabric that can absorb stains, oils, and dyes. Please do not use anything oily on your bag.

Hello everyone, after Averagejoe’s authentication, I bought this mini lady Dior in black lambskin with the leather strap.
This is the first time I have bought anything preloved.
I like it very much but I can see that it has been used quite a lot.. hence got it for a very good price..
I wanted to ask if you guys can let me know any tips and tricks on some of the issues it has:
•how to clean black spots on the interior fabric
•how to clean or polish the leather to minimize scratches and scuffs
•how to restore color of the hardware, it’s a little silver on the rings holding the charms
I’m attaching some photos too.,
TIA..

- invert the lining out of the bag and try to clean just those spots with water and a bit of soap. Be careful not to get any of the water on the leather. You can use a damp cloth to concentrate the moisture on those spots only so water doesn't run into the leather
- You can use a tiny bit of neutral leather cleaning cream on the bag, but I generally don't recommend it because it often makes the leather feel a bit grimy, and some of the cream may get caught in the embroidery and dry up to form crusts
- You can tie a silk scarf to the handles to prevent more wear on the lambskin there
- You would have to replace the charms at Dior to get rid of those silver marks. Constant rubbing there seems to have taken the gold-colour plating off of those areas. I think you don't need to replace the charms yet because it is very difficult to see the silver spots unless you are very close to the bag.

Thanks for your detailed reply..
I have ordered a Samorga organizer in red color to keep my items and the interior clean going forward..
Yes I plan to tie my Dior initial letter A mitzah on the front handle.. I don’t like the look of mitzahs on both handles..
Yes I plan to leave the hardware as is for the time being..
As for the scratches on the leather, I’m very scared to use any creams for the reasons you rightfully stated.. is it a good idea to go over the leather with a clear shoe shiner sponge?
I saw somebody use that on YouTube, would you recommend?

The shoe shiner sponge will make the surface slippery. It works well on shoes because you're not meant to touch the surface of the shoes when wearing them, but a bag will rub against your clothes and your hands will get in contact with it repeatedly. This means the grease can transfer to your clothes and fingers.

A water protectant spray may work better, but be sure to cover the charms and hardware when spraying as it can leave oily stains on the hardware which you would have to clean off.

I’m glad I asked you before using anything.. I think I’m going to start using it as is.. on the plus side, I won’t have to baby it..
thank you for all your suggestions and recommendations:)

Hi!

I’m hoping to get some advice on cleaning/repairing my small Diorama bag. I purchased it last year from Dior (within Saks) and noticed this a few months back after only a handful of wears. My bag is powder pink with light suede lining and it appears that the hardware has rubbed off on the edges of the bag and caused discoloration as well as small tears in the leather.

Is this fixable? Is it likely that Dior can do something? I’m very disappointed given I’ve only lightly used it.

The darkened areas can be cleaned by a leather specialist (they will lighten up with cleaning), although that won't change the indentations that are there.

Hi,

I'm wondering if someone could give me some advice as to where I stand in the following situation:

I have 2 Diorama Croisière wallets (with chain) in calfskin with large 'Cannage' motif.
One which has been used regularly for about 1.5 - 2 years, and one that have been used less for about 4 - 6 months.
The older one still looks pristine but the newer one had some serious wear at the edges where the chain touches, last year I took them both to the Dior shop on New Bond St in London and they agreed that it might be the placement of the mini D-rings that made the chain damage the leather (as they old one didn't have any issues).
They send it to Paris to see if anything could be done, and if not, I would receive a replacement or possibly a store credit - (they sounded very hesitant here and only gave the option when I said I was unsure if I wanted a replacement in the event it happens again as I've seen more people with this issue than not).
Anyway, approx. 4 months later in Feb of this year, the store contacted me and said they had fixed the wallet (without any authorisation from me... on the paperwork it says it is sent to Paris for 'quotation'). The 'fix' was pretty much pulling the leather and gluing it down, they may have added some paint... I refused to accept it and off it went to Paris again!

I have just chased them about the wallet and hope to hear from them next week.
However, if they say they are not able to fix the previous fix, which was done without my authorisation, can they still only offer me a replacement or a store credit (which only lasts one year)? Or as they messed with it without my authorisation, can I ask for a refund?

I don't want to take my chances on another wallet and there is nothing else I want or 'need'...

The approval is usually for the cost of the repair, not the act of the repair since you authorized a repair by sending it in. Perhaps this bag was still under warranty so they fixed it for free? I think that it's great that they were able to repair it (some brands will claim that is normal wear and tear and won't repair instances where a clasp/strap presses into the flap of a bag). Since they did not ask you to see if you agreed to a certain price for the repair, then they should not charge for the repair.

Admin please let me know if this needs to be posted to an existing thread.

Does anyone have any tips on cleaning and caring for Dior's beautiful embroidered bags?
I've got an embroidered Diorama that has intricate beading and stitching. I'm too scared to use a baby wipe because I feel it may damage the stitching.
Any tips on how to maintain these beautiful bags would be much appreciated!

Im doomed... really doomed. I washed my vintage denim trotter yesterday and the leather strap/pipping (which is blue color) has color transferred to the canvas
Im not sure how to remove it now. Any advice ?

Can you please post some pictures so we can see which canvas it is, and what the colour transfer looks like? Thanks!
