Congratulations! It's really pretty.

I suggest storing it with the felt, and with the stuffing that came inside. It will keep the bag pristine during storage.

Also, if it gets scratched, then you can use a microfiber cloth (i.e. the one for eyeglasses lenses) and gently rub the scratch in circular motions. It may remove or lessen the scratch. I do not suggest applying product on it because it can darken the leather. If you do use a product, then I suggest testing it on a spot under the flap or at the bottom of the bag that is less visible. Don't test it on the lining as it is a different leather.

Thank you so much averagejoe!
Should I leave the felt covering the entire bag as it came in, or leave it just under the flap? The felt is detachable at the flap.. sorry if it’s like whichever is the same lol..

Under the flap and covering the bag, as it came wrapped to you. The more protection, the more pristine your bag will look. The felt prevents the flap from being indented by the edge of the opening inside.

So it's almost summer, which tends to be pretty hot here and I live by the beach so the air is extra humid and salty.
Would this cause any harm to my leather goods or their hardware? Are there any ways to prevent that?

The humidity and warmth are ideal conditions for oxidation reactions to occur to the materials of your bags, like the leather, any plastic components (i.e. PVC coating on patent leather), metal hardware (i.e tarnishing), and the glue/adhesive. Warmth and humidity can also increase the likelihood of mold growth.

To preserve your pieces, store your items in a dark, cool, and dry closet/basement when they're not in use. You get put desiccant bags in your storage space to absorb moisture.

Also, do not leave your bags in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time when in use. Their colour of the materials can change with UV damage.

I guess it's just one more thing to worry about.. thanks averagejoe!

It's more of a precaution, but our accessories are meant to be enjoyed. Just enjoy it with these in mind, and if it oxidizes, then maybe you'll have had enough of the accessory by that point that it would be time to retire it anyway.

Hey Guys, I have a question.. I have a street bag and I noticed the shoulder strap itself while perfect is unsticking. Do you recommend a glue and stick it back? And followup question.. What glue can you recommend? I saw online someone recommended e6000

Or should I just leave it as alone.

I don't take it out often so I think its natural as he's been packed away.

Thanks

Do you mean the Street Chic bag with the thick strap with grommets, and that the top layer of leather is separating from the bottom?

You should get glue specifically used for leather because it is more flexible (perhaps take it to a leather repair place). If you use Super-Glue, and too much of it, then it will make the area hard and inflexible. And it should be done with care because it's easy for the glue to show when the two layers are pressed together, forcing excess glue outwards.

Correct its the thick strap with grommets.

Hmm.. Don't know any place nearby I'd trust to fix this. Perhaps next time I'm in the states. I wouldn't want to use superglue, I'd rather a glue specifically for leather. I agree, I wouldn't go all heavy handed just enough to seal them back..

Thanks a mil for replying!

Anyone knows what type of metal is used on the Lady Dior? (perhaps it's the same for all the Dior bags) is it alloy, steel, zinc.... anyone knows? asking for a project I will do but need to find out the type of metal first. thank you!

If it's the same as most other brands, then it should be plated brass.

If it's the same as their costume jewelry, then it should be plated pewter.

Brass was the word I was searching for, thanks!
They also plate their costume jewelry (silver hardware) with palladium, but I am not sure they would do that in the bags.

In any case @LadyD21 if you can't find a definite answer, ask the customer service (eg say it created an allergy to you and which metal is it or whatever).
