Hi everyone. Unfortunately, a bottle of water leaked inside my red patent Lady Dior. As fellow-owners of the Lady Dior, I'm sure guys know that the opening is super stiff and so there's no hope of just airing it out to dry. Any ideas of what to do? Help! :(

Put lots of desiccant packages inside the bag to absorb all the moisture. I hope the moisture has not gone through the stitching as that can affect the patent finish on the outside of the bag.

A neutral-colour cleaning cream should be able to clean this off. Test it on an inconspicuous spot first to see if the cream may darken the bag (don't use it if it does).

Better yet, lighter fluid works wonders. Lighter fluid doesn't leave residue as it evaporates very quickly, unlike cleaning creams. Apply some lighter fluid to a microfibre cloth and very gently rub the dirt.

Hello everyone,

Last week I purchased my first Lady Dior, which I was/am very excited about! I’ve noticed a few ~flaws~ though, and it’s kind of driving me nuts because I am a perfectionist, and I would love to hear your thoughts on how bad it is/when I should get it repaired.

First flaw is a tiny scuff on the handle.

Second flaw is a thread that seems to have snapped or something; it’s not just loose, it’s come out of the stitching.

According to my SA this was one of only two of this color/size left in the country, so I don’t think getting a new one is really a viable option.

I will of course take it in to have it repaired, but my main question for you all is: should I do it sooner rather than later? And, any ideas on how long it will take?

I just love the bag so much and am not ready to part with it yet, lol. But if it could get much worse, or if it will only take a couple weeks, I’d rather just get it over with.

Thank you all so much!
(P.S. Also attached a photo of the full bag because she IS a beauty :) )

I would try to see if the SA can bring the other one into the boutique for you as an exchange. If this doesn't work, then get it repaired. It looks like this bag may have had some unfortunate shop wear.

Repairs can take a while, anywhere from 4 weeks and up but it depends on what is being repaired.

Thank you for your advice! I wasn't sure if it would be worth it to do an exchange but I will ask my SA to see if he can bring it in, and otherwise will just go ahead and have it repaired.

Just as an update: I texted my SA the issues/photos, he responded immediately that he had actually shipped in both existing bags when I placed my order and that I could come in anytime to exchange. I went in that day, we both examined the new one and didn’t find any flaws. I’m really happy, thank you @averagejoe again for the advice! I love Dior  lol

I'm glad to hear that you were able to get a perfect one! Enjoy your beautiful new Lady!
