Using a shoe tree will help keep the shape of the boots so it is beneficial and you will be happy you did. I bought a beautiful pair of Burberry boots this past winter and didn't store them in a box plus I was a shoe tree short. Going through my closet the other day, I found the Burberry soft leather boots and they weren't in great shape considering they were last worn and cleaned in March. I did buy shoe trees for them and I hope it isn't too late. All my other boots had shoe trees and they were fine. Won't happen again.
Dear Izzy, thank you so much for your reply!
I think I'm going to get a pair - I'm just afraid it will kinda make my shoes wider and they fit me like they were made for my feet :D
I hope your Burberry shoes will be in better shape, soon! Have you tried the trick with the spoon to give them their form back? I tried it and it kinda works - maybe that could help.

I can assure you they do not make your shoes wider because I have always used them in boots and probably should my good shoes. I am just sick about my boots because a box had fallen on them and crushed the toes so I can only hope the shoe trees help. Try it becasue I think you will be happy with the results. Your boots are beautiful!!

Hello everyone,

I've caught the Mulberry bug, and will be uploading some pics soon. However there is a bag on Ebay, a sparkle tweed Edie, that has some transfer on it. Does anyone have any experience of removing some/all transfer on sparkle tweed? You can't see it on the front but it can be seen from the back. Maybe I should leave it, but it is such a bargain, and apart from the transfer is a really nice bag.

Thanks in advance

i know this is an old thread but i thought I'd share with you a conversation i had with the Mulberry SA at selfridges ( London). apparently if there is a water stain on your darwin leather if you bend and kind of squeeze the leather it will help disperse the water and improve the appearance of the stain!!! I've never tried it so have no idea if it works!

I was told the same thing and it does help because I was caught in a downpour of horrible rain last year. Probably the good thing with mine is the bag was soaked everywhere so it in the end just darkened the leather. I was very pleased with how the leather did after such a soaking. I did use the technique to squeeze some of the water out of the bag.

This is such a helpful thread, thank you! I have some Mulberry woes to rectify so am now armed to the eyeballs with Collonil products.

Firstly, my 1 year old large tan Delilah has taken a battering against my jeans and is grubby on the back. I did waterproof on purchase, and have fairly regularly thereafter, however it is now covered with dark stains. I took it to the Mulberry shop to investigate repair, but was told that they wouldn't do it (I'd be happy to pay), and that I should have waterproofed it each week! At no point did the SA who sold me the bag tell me this, and nor did the care card, so I am a little peeved.

Secondly, my lovely mini Bayswater in chocolate brown leather got pooped on by what must have been an albatross, so big was its deposit :yucky: I cleaned it all off immediately (on way home, thank goodness) but it could now do with a bit of TLC!

Thirdly, I have a used Emmy on its was to me! It looks in perfect condition, but I may as well do all three at once, eh?

Bloody albatross :weep:

I bought some new glasses and the case has left marks inside my Bayswater. See pics. Does anyone know how I can get these marks out of the suede? If I need to send it away to be cleaned, shall I contact the glasses manufacturer to get them to pay? I don't think it's on that their cases bleed colour when they scrape on things :(

Hi I had water spots on the suede of my SBS and I used the scourer side of a kitchen sponge (scourer and sponge one) in gentle sweeping motions and it worked a treat, have a look online to see whether it would work for stains.

Good luck

Here are some tips from my SA:

1. Use Collonil spray about every two months. Apply more often if you use the bag more.

2. Gel is not necessary for regular care, unlike the spray. Use gel when you find the corner of the bag is a little dry or worn.

There is one more tip from me. Use baby wipes to clean color transfer. Works like a charm.

Being dim here, but do you mean the ordinary packs of baby wipes from the chemist or supermarket? Do they need to be the "pure" or "sensitive, fragrance free" variety? I can see me getting it very wrong! ;-)

Hi, I apologise if this tip is elsewhere within this forum I don't have time to look through it all.

So yesterday I got caught in a torrential rain storm whilst out with my oak SBS. To make matters worse I was wearing a green wax jacket which is known for colour transfer. In my wisdom I wore by SBS under my jacket to protect it from the worst of the rain but didn't realise that I was causing serious damage with the inside hem of my coat rubbing on the front of my bag. I was literally in tears when I saw what I'd done, dark patches of colour along the front of my bag.

Got home, tried Woly perfect gel which did nothing but, on the advice of my wonderful husband, then sprinkled some talc over the damaged area and left overnight. Oh joy of joy this morning - it's not prefect but my goodness has it improved! I wish I had taken before and after photos. Anyway, I rarely post but I wanted to share my miracle. I am so happy :D

Hello! I was lucky enough to get my very first Mulberry item for my birthday (best boyfriend ever!), a continental wallet in oak natural leather! I was wondering, is it wise to use collonil on wallets? Any advise appreciated!

Hello, mulberry conoisseurs, I saw an oversized alexa for sale and it is made of darwin leather. I also read that the Alexas are not made in Darwin leather and I cannot find any Darwin leather on the mulberry website. Is it fake?! Thank you so much!

Congratulations on your first Mulberry item, lynxlynx - and on your thoughtful boyfriend! :-) Personally, I'd spray every nvt leather item - particularly oak, which is more prone to staining than choc or black. Any chance of a pic for us nosey ladies?! ;-)

Post the link on the Authentication thread, Camilaax. It may just be that the owner can't remember the type of leather and has got it wrong but, no, I think Darwin leather was discontinued some time before the Alexa was produced ...

Hello, does anyone have recommendations for cleaning brass on the chain strap on a Lily? I purchased a preowned in beautiful condition, but the brass on the strap is slightly duller than the plate.
