Hi I'm new to PF and was after a little advise, I got a lovely oak SBS but have not used it yet as was waiting to get spray. I now have the recommended spray but was after some tips on best way to spray, how many coats etc. Thanks in advance

Thanks managed to get some am I best to do several lighter coats? Should I cover the hardware?

Hi and welcome and great little bag!

Initially I've done 3 light sprays from about arms length, leave a minute or two between each spray. I don't have this leather, so imagine it will need spraying frequently.

If it goes sticky, you've over done it, I did this with my me bryn, but after use the stickiness has gone.

Why don't you post pics on the main mulberry forum too. Ask on there about spraying at the se time and you will get more advice. This part of the forum is quiet

I just cleaned my Oak Bayswater for the first time, I've had the the bag since last summer. I sprayed it before use and just used the gel today (Collonil for both).

I had a few scuffs on the bag which the gel completely removed, and the leather really drank up the gel. Good stuff! The bag looks good as new.

How exactly did you use the gel? I've been using the spray for the first few times, but I don't think it's very healthy to inhale it, so I got the gel now. Do you apply a lot, let it dry a bit and then rub it or do you apply and rub it at the same time?

Hi, could someone help me. Im totally new to this but wanting some help trying to identify a vintage mulberry I picked up in a charity shop, Im not sure if its genuine but would appreciate some advice. Should I just post a picture?

I put a small amount of the gel on a soft cloth and very gently rubbed it over the bag. The leather just drank the stuff up. I went over the entire bag, the handles and clochette, doing a small area at a time. There wasn't any real residue, but I did leave the bag to "air dry" overnight before putting it back in its dust cover. Looked brand new and the leather looked really restored.

I've sprayed my Bayswater once, before I used it, and did that outside on my patio as I didn't want to inhale the spray indoors. I covered the hardware with a bit of plastic wrap. The spray did initially darken the leather, but as it absorbed, there didn't seem to be any change in color.

Hope this helps!

Hiya
I've got a pink patent leather Bayswater which has got stains on the back from where it has rubbed on my clothing. I thought being patent they would simply wipe off but that does not seem to be the case. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've not even had the bag a year and it looks awful - HELP!

I got caught in the rain today and there are some water stains on my brand new Mulberry Bayswater. I'm really scared and not sure how to get it out!! Any help is very much appreciated!!!!
A neutral waterpoof protection spray would be your best option from your local shoe repairer, but if you unsure about this, then contacting Mulberry would be your best opton.

Hi

I am completely new to this site and think that it is a great idea! I have two Mulberry bags, one brown with the brass ID tag and the other black with a silver ID tag that I picked up at a charity shop which I am unsure about. I have googled and read so many links regarding how to spot a fake bag, but I am so unsure that I should be grateful if someone could provide me with some advice. :smile1:
