I'm probably spraying my dark bags once a year, maximum, and lighter (oak) bags might get sprayed twice a year. Never had any problems with water stains so far., but I always wipe my bags dry as soon as I get in if I'm caught in the rain. Collonil is a great product!

I also think it depends how often it is used. I recently bought a purse which is going to be kind of my daily companion soon and I think I'll pamper it with a lot of Collonil in the beginning.

The only problem I have is that I don't really know what I should use for my patent leather lily - if I should use the normal Collonil gel or the liquid spray for patent leather? I'm quite unsure because my mother in law sprayed her patent leather ballerinas with a special spray and they got some nasty scratches from that :(

I think patent is perfectly water proof so should be ok. Mulberry suggest you use Collonil Lack Polish on patent leather

Going to buy some for some non Mulberry patent shoes i just bought :smile1:

Is there an alternative to using the collonil gel? I would like to protect my french purse and the website recommends the collonil gel, but I would like to be able to go out and pick something up within the next couple of days.

There are a variety of leather care products available. I know quite a few members use and recommend Furniture Clinic (UK) products. It is worth remembering though, Mulberry only recommend Collonil, therefore if you used a different product which marked your bag, the guarantee would be void. :smile1:

Hi all, after the obsessive need to protect created following me reading the water stop thread I got out my girls to treat today, to my horror I found a large scratch or scuff on my lily, is there anything I can do including sending her off? She is not even a year old yet very disappointed :( ImageUploadedByPurseForum1390677851.757978.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1390677877.907950.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1390677893.757927.jpg

Does anyone use the mulberry leather nourisher?

It came with my bays and I still have it but it's all dry and hard, which is to be expected. I did use it a couple months ago when I got something on my wallet and it came off right away and it even rubbed out some of the slight marks. I somehow melted it and used it but I have no idea how I did it. any ideas?

I just cleaned my Oak Bayswater for the first time, I've had the the bag since last summer. I sprayed it before use and just used the gel today (Collonil for both).

I had a few scuffs on the bag which the gel completely removed, and the leather really drank up the gel. Good stuff! The bag looks good as new.
