Sadly it needs more than some cream or wipes. It doesn’t really have any marks just an overall look that could do with a good clean. Definitely needs “to return it to its former glory”. :graucho:

I also remember seeing such threads but can’t find anything,
where are you *former glory threads*

Can anyone recommend a good online service where you can send a bag to be cleaned.

I have a bag where the exterior is showing grubbiness from what i think is ingrained dirt & it’s lost it’s magic.

The Handbag Spa Limited shows some great before & afters but don’t feel I want to trust it to anyone without a recommendation. I have also emailed them and never had a reply so am a bit wary.

Hi greenshanks

I havent used this company myself, but i know some of the Ladies here have., and have said that they provide a very good service

Wow, I have just looked through their photo gallery - before & after. They look amazing getting really excited about seeing what they can do

Does anyone know what sort of cost is involved with a good clean?

They can even change the colour of your bag :D

Wow, impressive gallery! Quite heart warming note on a Mulberry bag which spent an year on a field. I just saw light beige Mulberry (thou not authenticated) on sale, I think it is Alexa hobo and it was quite dirty overall and therefore the seller will sell it cheaper. It would definitely need a good clean like that, but I don't know if there's any similar service here in Finland. I'm also interested to know how much it would cost on funitureclinic.

There is "The Handbag Spa" in Harrogate who have a good rep and also another company in London who have a good reputation. I know the handbag clinic is a spin off of furniture clinic who dont have a good reputation in the leather repair industry at all. I have a colleague in the industry who visited their premises and saw almost half a warehouse of sofas and armchairs that had been sent back due to faulty repairs. maybe worth checking them out before sending anything to them.

Oh no, that's not so good, hope you are wrong as can't find anywhere else.
Also when I looked into it a little more I have found loads of glowing reports on TPF of the work done by the Furniture Clinic. I have also googled Handbag Spa in Harrogate & nothing comes up for there or for London.
There is one in Slough on the web but think they must have gone out of business as I have emailed them several times and left phone messages but never get a reply:graucho:

I know "the handbag spa" in Harrogate is still trading as I know the woman who owns the company and can vouch for them. Not sure about the London one (it is Slough) but they are 2 different companies. Harrogate is thehandbagspa-dot-com company and as far as I know they are still trading, well as of a few weeks ago they were.

The one in Slough is www.handbagspa.co.uk but I emailed them months ago when I needed a repair and never got a reply.

I then tried them again recently with 3 emails using their form & also direct email. I left several messages on the answer phone. They haven't got back to me in three weeks so if they are still in business I am not very impressed with their customs services, definitely wouldn't recommend them :graucho:

Scary thought, I could have sent the my bag for a quote and never got a reply!

At the moment Furniture clinic are coming up trumps, with a helpful service and sensible prices. I am going to give them a try:D
