Ladies... I just received my OS Oak Alexa (lovvve her)! Anyway, I ordered the Collonil waterstop spray, but it isn't here yet and I SOOOO want to use her RIGHT NOW. Have any of you tried Apple Guard Rain & Stain Repellent? I use that on all my Balenciaga, Prada, etc. I am just nervous as this is my FIRST Mulberry! :)

Morning All.

My poor little pink patent melanie folder was brutally attacked my my black alexa. I left them near each other ( i think the alexa may have even sat on Melanie a tiny bit) and now my beautiful pink leather has dark shadows of stain which i think my be from my Alexa. Does anyone have experience with patent leather? I am going to try some nail polish remover in a q tip and some good leather wipes but i am worried the damage is un repairable.

Any suggestions?

Hello
Was wondering if anybody had some advice for leather than feels dry... My tillie Tote (chestnut) feels really really dry and I am scared that the leather will crack...

Thanks
celine

Do you have any pics? What kind of bag and what leather is it? I would suggest rubbing the bag with collonil gel and the dustbag/a soft cloth, but it's dependant on the leather. :smile1:
Hi,
this is the bag I was looking at, it just looks a bit grubby

Many thanks for the reply:smile1:

I'm not too familiar with the Mabel or that leather, but the outside marks/colour transfer should come out using the collonil gel, I've done that myself on one of my bags and the marks completely disappeared. If the suede lining is grubby this can be removed using an emery board on the suede, or a suede brush. :)

Thanks for all the info Dazzlepuff, you have been a great help:smile1:

Tinkerbell, a friend of mine always uses this soap to clean Chanel bags.

You could try it on a hidden spot somewhere first, to see if colour comes off, but according to my friend it is very safe on coloured leather. After cleaning you can use premium gold leather creme from Collonil.
I cleaned a very dirty oak bag with the soap and it did wonders.
Just to show you, here are the pics before and after:

Just thought I'd share my experience too. I followed the advice of the SA and fellow TPF-ers and only used the Collonil spray on my grape Alexa to protect it from rain and dirt. I used it about once every two weeks as I wanted to ensure that it was protected, plus it was rainy season. After a few months I noticed that the leather is drying up (quite quickly) and wasn't as supple or glossy as before. TBH- I'm a bit disappointed with the quality of the bag as I thought it would age gracefully with prolonged use, instead the leather became dull and lifeless. I haven't used the bag for a few months now and as a last resort, have used the Clarks leather cream in an attempt to restore life back into the bag- am not sure whether there's much different but hoping to use the bag again in a few weeks time. I'm going to consider twice before buying mulberry now.

Have a try with this product I have also used Clarks leather cream in my opinion this is much better, it moisturises and then seals I found with the Clarks cream it seemed to leave a residue hence changing to another product it goes miles too so very good value for money as it does two jobs.

I've literally just done this to my new oak Mulberry Bayswater and it looks good as new!!
I'd already sprayed it with a waterproofing spray, but i got a mark on it. I managed to remove the mark with soap and water, but this left a large water mark on the leather. I emptied the bag and manipulated the leather (rolled it, waved it, squished and bent it) apparently this redistributes the oils in the leather, and the big dark water mark has dissapeared!! I've just resprayed it with waterproofing spray and it didnt affect the colour after either - brilliant!! hope this helps xpipx

Hi all
Can anyone suggest the best way to protect and then care for a black antique glace Roxanne? I'm now feeling a lot happier after having you guys make me feel better about the bag! The site is brilliant.

Many thanks!
