My first mousseline, in love with it. For your reference.
A photo for our vicarious enjoyment? After reading some of the entries in this thread, I actually got the nerve up to wear my lovely mousseline to dinner. I am so happy I am getting encouragement from other Hermes lovers. Thanks everyone.
Oh my goodness. The blue is absolutely fabulous. I can definitely get the evil vibe from the other, but it probably goes away when you wear it. Congratulations.Hello moussies, I'm just back from the Paris sale with a couple of new chiffons to add to the thread-- or rather, some more photos of some chiffons that have already appeared in the thread, but with mousselines, I always think the more pictures, the better. They are so infernally hard to photograph, especially the changeants!
I brought back a citrusy Effluves gavroche and two GM Flots de Cheval: one in the Bleu Lac/Petrole/Cobalt colorway, and one changeant in Emeraude/Bordeaux/Vert. Ladies, if you love blue, I can't recommend the Bleu Lac enough. I didn't seek this one out in the store because I tend to gravitate towards contrast-y patterns, and I thought this one wouldn't be intricate enough. Oh my was I wrong! This is the perfect, perfect blue mousseline. Unlike my other blue mousselines (and y'all know I have a lot of those), this one pops even when worn against other blues. It's hard to capture how vibrant and how complex this one is in person, but I hope the modeling shot shows a tiny hint of its depth (excuse my posture, by the way). This is one I would have gladly bought full price if I'd known what a gorgeous piece it is in person. I feel extra lucky for having found it in the sale, though I HATE that H puts that S stamp even on delicate, transparent chiffon.
The Emeraude Flots is an entirely different beast. It's somehow both glamorous and sinister, and it's unlike anything else in my collection. I feel like Snow White's evil stepmother when I try it on. It's extremely dramatic, and I'm still pondering how to style it, but I'm pretty certain this is an evening or winter mousse for me. This one's also a changeant, as if it weren't showy enough already. The last picture gives a hint of how iridescent it is, like a beetle's wings.
