All good advice and beautiful shawls here! I just want to throw out that I saw (but resisted...don't know for how long:graucho::graucho:), the most beautiful Aux Port du Palais changeant in the boutique yesterday...it was a grey, with bright pops of color that morphed to bright pink...totally gorgeous. Now that I am describing it, I think someone may have modeled it here...it is worth checking out! Must go check now!!

This sounds amahhhhzing, hopiko - gray to bright pink would be my dream come true!!

Has anyone seen the axis mundi in the 05 color way? I understand that the changeant is from blue to a copper color. If any one has one or a pic, I would love to see it! Thanks.
LOL, I was wondering perhaps I know who talked to you about the copper and blue sheen of this changeant ;). Anyway, here you go, the first photo shows more of the blue and the second one of the copper. The main color of the shawl is a sable (brown) color, fairly dark when seen without the changeant effect.

Thx Chestnutty! All the cws I've seen so far of Axis Mundi are very pretty. No wonder u think every mousseline collector should have one. In my dreams, I have all the cws of this design!:p

Thanks so much chestnutty. You are such a great resource for Pf. I appreciate your exquisite photos and wealth of knowledge. I'm totally hooked on changeants!

Talking about changeants, does anyone know if the effect would diminish with successive drycleaning or hand-washing? I just got my first mousseline a week or so ago & am still in the learning stage. TIA!:p

Thx fig! Indeed, I had good luck on the hunt & u can see the trophy below! However, our boutique does not have cw8. Óh well, less temptation then!

Congratulations, D Lee. The pattern looks so whimsical in this colourway.

Hi ladies...

I have been following this thread with some interest and admiring your mousselines as i think that I'm going to take the plunge and add one or two to my ever-expanding H scarf collection. I am considering Axis Mundi as my first. The cw's available to me are 05, 06, 08, 09, 10. Somewhere on this thread I found a post citing some of the 'changeant' colorways, but now I can't find it. Can anyone tell me which cw's have the effect, and also if anyone has any recommendations about which color would be a good first choice it would be much appreciated. I would like to be able to see the design, and from what I've read some cw's in Axis Mundi lend themselves better to this than others.

Also, and anyone who has 08 tell me if it would be a good complement to Capucine togo?

I am still going through this thread hunting out mod pics to help me decide, but I'm about to have a baby and am also trying to get a billion other things done concurrently, so any feedback / advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you!!

bem3231, good advice from the other ladies already. I have Axis Mundi CW8 but I don't have anything in capucine. CW8 is more cool red/pink, so it might not match. Having said that, some parts of the design do have brigher/more orangey-reds - but they might be lost depending on the way you fold the mousseline. Sorry I can't be of more help. Congrats on the baby!

Oh thank you! That's quite a generous compliment! I'm just quite interested in enabling the ladies here :D. I know many other tPFers who are much more knowledgeable and I'm glad to have learned a tiny bit from them (and perhaps a bit more chatty?).
Now I'm just going to sit here wait for the Peuple du Vent changeants from the next Fall collection. No more enabling.

Oh, Chestnutty, this is amazing! Congratulations. It looks like the pattern shows really nicely on this one, too.

Thx fig! I really believe every cw of this design looks gorgeous. Fortunately not every cw is available locally or I might end up more than 2cws. Could u do a modelling shot of yours as well? I am sure it would be spectacular!

D Lee, you should be safe. The changeant effect comes from the way different colors of thread are woven together rather than from an overlay or coating of some kind. I haven't needed to clean either of my two changeant moussies yet, but I've dry-cleaned my changeant plisse with no ill effects.

Oh my, this is divine! So now I love 05, 06, and 10, but must choose one...

Thank you! I did not know that moussies came in plisse and couldn't figure out the "ribbing" in one on that I saw on display last week! BINGO! It was a gorgeous!

I should clarify that my plissé is a regular twill changeant rather than a mousseline. hopiko, I would love to know more details about the ribbed moussie you saw: sounds amazing!
