Hi ladies...

I have been following this thread with some interest and admiring your mousselines as i think that I'm going to take the plunge and add one or two to my ever-expanding H scarf collection. I am considering Axis Mundi as my first. The cw's available to me are 05, 06, 08, 09, 10. Somewhere on this thread I found a post citing some of the 'changeant' colorways, but now I can't find it. Can anyone tell me which cw's have the effect, and also if anyone has any recommendations about which color would be a good first choice it would be much appreciated. I would like to be able to see the design, and from what I've read some cw's in Axis Mundi lend themselves better to this than others.

Also, and anyone who has 08 tell me if it would be a good complement to Capucine togo?

I am still going through this thread hunting out mod pics to help me decide, but I'm about to have a baby and am also trying to get a billion other things done concurrently, so any feedback / advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you!!

Hi bem3231,

I've not seen all the colorways you mentioned, but I can tell you which ones I have seen and how they stack up on your criteria of design visibility and changeant effect.

CW08: This is the Rose Indien/Encre/Rouge. Gorgeous and very intense, but I found the pattern doesn't show as well on this colorway, since it's more tone-on-tone. I didn't notice a changeant effect, but I also didn't examine this one too closely since I had already gotten CW07. My impression is this is a much more pink-based scarf than capucine, but it's hard to say how they'd look together without actually trying it out.

CW09: Blue/Vert/Aubergine. This one isn't a changeant, but it's one of the loveliest, richest blues I've ever seen. The pattern is subtler in this one than it is in CW06, CW07 or CW10.

CW10: Poudre Irise/Moutarde/Vert. The name implies to me that it might be changeant (often if there are two color names listed together, it seems to indicate that the first color is dominant with the changeant coming in the form of the second color listed). I didn't notice a strong changeant effect when I saw this in person, but there was no natural light whatsoever in the boutique. My suspicion is that it might have a subtle lavender changeant effect, but D Lee, who just posted photos of this beauty, could confirm that. This colorway of all the ones I've seen so far shows the pattern the best.

CW07 is also definitely a changeant (fuschia jaune, so predominantly fuschia with a jaune glow that gives the whole scarf a peachiness in some lights). I take it this one isn't one of your options, however!

As to what would make a good first choice... that's so hard to say! I would ask you what colors you usually choose in scarves, but with mousselines I find the options are much broader, because the sheerness of the fabric makes colors you might not usually go for a possibility. :smile1:

From the colorway name and verbal description (credit to a lovely tPF crime partner and my SA), I assume S05, 07, 08, and 10 are changeant.

S 05: changeant is blue azur
S 07: changeant is yellow jaune
S 08: cheangant is rose indien (fuchsia pink)
S 10: changeant is grey grise (D Lee, can you confirm?).

I have a non-changeant white/corail Aux Portes du Palais and it's lovely, comparable to Axis Mundi. It's a Christine Henry's creation, too.

Thank you so much - very helpful!

Thank you, Calexandre, for such a detailed description - very helpful! I know that it's so hard to make recommendations for someone. I don't live near a boutique so will have to choose without seeing these in real life, unfortunately.

In terms of what I already have in my collection - I am always drawn to pinks, so have a fair number of scarves / shawls in varying colors of pink. I love coral, too. Although I wear these a lot, I am also open to expanding! I have a toddler (and soon a newborn) so the reality of my current life is a lot of casual clothing. I would like something beautiful but fairly versatile. I wear a lot of neutral colors - black, brown, taupe, white, navy, etc., with some pops of color - usually in pinks or corals, sometimes blue.

I have an ELeK shawl in the lighter blue / camel colorway, and a pink Concours d'Etriers, with a turquoise ceintures et liens en route to me. My Hermes bags are in Capucine and Blue Jean togo.

I'm not sure if this helps at all - the bottom line is that there are so many good and lovely options!...

S 10: changeant is grey grise (D Lee, can you confirm?).

Hi bem3231,

CW10: Poudre Irise/Moutarde/Vert. My suspicion is that it might have a subtle lavender changeant effect, but D Lee, who just posted photos of this beauty, could confirm that. This colorway of all the ones I've seen so far shows the pattern the best. :

This changeant mystery is interesting indeed. Yesterday morning prior to my visit, I called my SA for an appointment. In the same telephone conversation, I expressed interest in a changeant & enquired about its price. My SA informed me that there isn't a price disparity between changeants & regular moussies. The changeant topic was never even broached when I was trying on both cw7 & cw10.

It's night here, maybe this is the reason why I cannot perceive the changeant effect on my cw10. Or maybe it's my inexperience. But when I weighed both my moussies, cw6 & cw9, my kitchen scales showed them to be the same wt! I will observe again tmr morning & report back if I could perceive the changeant effect.

Photos speak better than my words, so here are an example of the changeant effect. Yup, that copper/yellow light is it!

In normal low light condition, the main color is this mauve

And, yes Monceau I can dress up and down with mousseline, especially this Mosaique au 24 due to its agreeable pattern. And, I do wear it with jeans.

I better run before **Chanel** kills me for tempting her further, LOL :graucho:.

Ahem......was it really necessary to enable me again with your fabulous pictures (remember what happened last time when you spoke with me about the Blue Paperoles GM) :blah::p?
Anyway, this looks fantastic on you. Luckily for my wallet, I am on the fence if I can do this cw because of the copper/yellow sheen. But since we are in the enable mood, do you think this cw would work with Sanguine? I need a mousseline that is subtle, feminine and works with Sanguine :graucho:.
Oh, and what scarf ring do you use? Looks fabulous!

You have totally sold me on this mosaique au 24! The collor is divine and you look stunning!
Must track this down...:graucho:

Just in case *enabling mood on*:graucho::

Lanit, those feathery brushstrokes are divine! And Chestnutty, what a beautiful photo of the changeant "glow" in your Mosaique. I saw this one at the boutique recently in plastic wrap and didn't ask for it to be taken out-- now that I've seen it in your photo, I might have to go back and look again.

Re: casual mousse-wear, count me among the fans of mousselines with jeans. I'm finding my Aux Portes so easy to toss on for a very casual tone-on-tone look with jeans and a blue top. And I do mean literally toss on-- when I'm wearing them casually I don't even bother with a simple bias fold. You can just grab these mousselines out of the box, stuff them over your shoulders any which way, and go.

Very pretty, calexandre! The mousse really gives something extra to your outfit, love it!

Chanel, I saw the emerald Flots when I picked up the blue one. Unfortunately, most greens do not agree with me but I can say that in real life, the colours are very deep and rich.

Sounds very interesting to me, I love deep shades of green. Especially emerald green . Hope I can see this one IRL soon. Thank you for sharing and enable me further, fig:p!

All good advice and beautiful shawls here! I just want to throw out that I saw (but resisted...don't know for how long:graucho::graucho:), the most beautiful Aux Port du Palais changeant in the boutique yesterday...it was a grey, with bright pops of color that morphed to bright pink...totally gorgeous. Now that I am describing it, I think someone may have modeled it here...it is worth checking out! Must go check now!!

Thx fig! Indeed, I had good luck on the hunt & u can see the trophy below! However, our boutique does not have cw8. Óh well, less temptation then!

He he! Ha ha! Ho ho! Very funny!:roflmfao::roflmfao::roflmfao: As requested, I have attached a mod pic of Axis Mundi cw10 poudre irise/moutarde/vert here. I guess if u don't have tons of mousses, it should be OK to get a duplicate for a wonderful design. OMG! I don't understand why I had to wear the same top for ALL my mod pics:D Must buy tops instead of scarves in future! They are way more gentle on my purse:D

GORGEOUS!!!! Congratulations! This looks great on you!

Love this on you, D Lee! Very nice! No wonder you couldn't resist :graucho:.

Mmm, I think cw 05 and/or 09 would be a very nice add to your collection. A blue mouss is very versatile IMO and would also look great with your BJ and Capucine bags ;).

Ooooooo la la! Chestnutty, this is stunning! I can see how you can dress this up or down. Beautiful! Thanks for the modeling shots! :smile1:

Hi bem,
As a newly minted mousseline owner, I'd advise u to hold back & visit the boutique personally to select your moussie. I am a 'red' lover & at least half of my scarf collection is either red, capucine or orange. So when I saw calexandre's mod shot of cw7,I was overjoyed & requested my SA to source one for me. I told her I would buy it for sure. I did buy for sure, but it was the other 2 cws she showed me instead of the original requested cw7. Why? I was inexperienced & did not factor in the fact that the moussie would let the color of my top show thru' to a certain extent when tied in certain ways. As such, I had to take the color of my tops into consideration & I therefore selected the other 2cws. Of course, I also needed to assess if the design is visible enough to my liking. Hope that helps.;)

Oh, and what scarf ring do you use? Looks fabulous!
I'm not sure you should buy it just to match the bag though, it doesn't not match exactly the bright color of the sanguine color. If you buy it for wear only, then I'd say check the Paris sale this summer, I suspect it may be on sale, ya know (since it has been on the France H website forever...).
I'd recommend something in corail, like the Aux Portes du Palais that I have, or the Brides de Gala en Finesse in corail (a bit too light in this color, though). I'd say the Portes du Palais would match the best, even though it's not a changeant mousse. Wait, my mousse will match well with Crevette, too.

And yes we're in the enable mood :p. I think this Portes du Palais would look best with a little black dress. Or a white summer dress/sheath dress
IMG_4944.jpg

But in reality I just drape it on when I wear regular summer tops, or Ascot knot for an extra kick.
IMG_4959.jpg

Let me know if you need the reference code for this shawl.

The scarf ring is a black mother of pearl, hand-made by a scarfie in Canada. I bought simply to match with my black Ex Libris en Kimonos and sepia Femme aux Semelles de Vent, as it has a hint of green.

Thank you so much everyone (Chrisy, calexandre, chestnutty, flg) for your kind compliments of the Gloiria mousse. I tried on the gorgeous fuschia/orange 140 mousseline of Coup de Fouet - heavenly but I already have two pink mousselines and need to add some range to my mousse collection!

Oh, I love this! The intricate floral pattern shows up so beautifully against the whites, and those coral shades look so fresh. You really are a master enabler. I wonder if this one is still available in the EU?

I don't think I can add much to the sage advice already given by Chestnutty, D Lee, and **Chanel**. I think you're right that there are tons of options, really-- I can imagine so many of the last two seasons' beautiful mousses in blues or pinks or corals matching wonderfully with your two H bags. :smile1:

Oh lordie, you sure know how to enable :sweatdrop:.
PdP looks great on you and is fa-bu-lous, it would be a perfect match with Sanguine I am sure. The thing is, I try to avoid mousses with white background (already have a few so neeeed variation).
But your mouss sure is stunning.
I remember one mouss with soft pink background and sort of leaves/flowers on it. Shades of coral are in it as well. I have seen it somewhere in this thread, but I forgot the name.
I think that one could work with Sanguine too, better than the mauve Mosaique I guess.
It's an oldie though, so that would mean hunting on the Bay again :sneaky:.
The scarf ring is very nice. I recently bought a Grande dark mother of pearl scarf ring from MaiTai. Already had the Moyenne size, but the Grande works better for me.
