FYI
H currently is offering 3 mous GMs each collex. That is Sp collex and Fall collex.
Also in Sp collex, H offers 2-3 mous stoles.
So . . . . that is 6 GMs and 2-3 stoles a year.

DLee - great choice on your AM

lanit - your Gloirie is indeed glorious

Thank you for the update info seton. Our boutique rarely gets mousselines - when they do, they come in very late, well past summer!

thank you and chestnutty for the Gloiria love. :hugs:

Posted on SOTD thread - Gloirie by Gloria Petyarr. Wish H would reissue this as a stole. Love the fiery red/orange version that Markova has. And this pattern is so versatile.

I think the mousseline is the perfect format for this design; gorgeous! Why don't I have one?

Hmm, great minds think alike - I have narrowed my choice down to your 06 and possibly the 10 as well, although I have not seen a "real" picture of 10, only the dreadful scarf book pic. How would you describe 10 IRL?

From what I gather, these cws are so different that having both would be easy to justify, if you love the design. 10 seems really neutral.

I'm having some trouble envisioning how to wear these mouseilines. My life is pretty casual most days, do you think the mouse can work with linen pants or even jeans?

Funny you ask this question Monceau as I have been unable to forget a recent sighting of a stunning casual mousseline look -- a very stylish woman simply threw her black and white cw of (drawing a blank on the design but it's the giant dahlia/daisy one) over a black sweater and a pair of jeans. She looked wonderful, and the mousseline was just folded as a triangle and thrown over her shoulders. The mousse draped beautifully, and had enough cling that she didn't seem to be fussing with it, as you would have to if it were a slippery silk twill.

It's Dahlia from 2006. I had an entry on it set for next wk but I moved it up and published it since you brought it up.

Very cool design and the presentation sounds super-chic!
I am now set on adding the mousseline to my collection! For whatever reason, I always envisioned chiffon as limited to tea dances and weddings. So happy to learn of the versatility of these beauties!

Keeping the momentum here...for reference (and you green lovers out there) posting pictures of a beautiful changeant that my sister picked up last week! "Les Flots du Cheval" in an hunter green to burgundy weave. The color is soooo rich.

Holy...:loveeyes::woot:!!! The perfect emerald green mousseline!! OMG....I love, love, love this, look how pretty this is . And burgundy wave *swooooooonnnn*. Thank you for sharing, hopiko! I am really in love with this one...

Oh dear....I am in trouble...deep deep trouble :sweatdrop:
So many beautiful mousselines in this thread. I really like TankerToad's changeant mouss with her Bleu Orage Birkin as well.
And I would love to find a Rayures Mexicaines mousseline, it's an older mouss, but I just love the look of it and would love to own one .
And then there's a mauve Mosaique au 24 on the European H. website which I also like.
See, deep trouble....4 mousselines on my wishlist already :sweatdrop:

Welcome to the mousselines, D Lee! This looks lovely on you. I have Axis Mundi in CW8 (rose indien/encre/rouge) and whilst I love the colours, the design doesn't show up anywhere near as well. I agree with calexandre that in this design, the different colourways do look like completely different scarves. Why don't you bring in the one you have when you try on CW10, to see if you think they are different enough to merit you buying that one too? And if not, Hermes will always come up with new designs and colourways that entice us.

Thx fig! I have decided to wear my cw6 on my next visit to the boutique! I shall demand to see your wonderful cw8 as well! Sb posted it & I drooled. Unfortunately it was not available the last time I visited. U sure know how to choose! Congratulations!

Axis Mundi is a must-have design for any scarf wearer (at least in my opinion), so having 2 cws in it is not really a bad idea. However, as you are expanding your collection, if you are buying another cw of this AM, I'd recommend a colorway with changeant effect. You'll be so amazed to see that effect. Also, changeant shawls are more densely weaved and weigh even lighter than non-changeant (about 30% lighter based on my observations from mine). Think about holding cotton candy in your hand ;), that how it feels with changeant. Amazing!

Also, for someone asking about mousseline stoles, from my observation, it's often for Spring/Summer collection and in one design (in place of cashmere silk stole for Fall/Winter collection). This AM GM mousse is from F/W '12 collection, while the Les Flots du Cheval and Ors Bleus d'Afrique are S/S '13. The mousse stole for S/S '13 is Galop Chromatique, which I'm holding my breath to see how H can translate this design into a stole without too much dead space.

Thx Chestnutty for your detailed response! OMG! Now I want a changeant as well! I hope my cats can stop my mousseline addiction. Sth strange happened to me recently. Whenever I am in the neighbourhood, I will march into H like a zombie & I seldom come out empty-handed! Hence my sm collection of >20 scarves since the start of my H collection last fall! I need help!:sweatdrop:

Seton,
Thx very much for your compliments & information! There will be a lot of goodies to collect if I have decided on this 'slippery slope'! On the bright side, I will not regret if I miss one because a more stunning piece will arrive soon enough! Yay!

Same here, Chanel! I am purchasing at the rate of 1/2 per week! Recently I sacked my domestic helper to finance my H addiction. :p What next? One consultation with a psychiatrist costs more than a 90 silk. In addition, I couldn't miss this forum for a day!

I started with 90 silk last fall. Then I added 140 silk to my addiction. Now mousseline. Fortunately the sub-tropical climate I live in makes CSGM impractical 10 months of the year. What should we do?:confused1:

Lol, D Lee:lolots:! The things we do for H....:p.
I always say, H. is my therapy :graucho:.

But yes, it's a slippery slope. I remember the days I was into Chanel and wasn't into H. bags at all. I did like them but couldn't see myself spending so much for a bag (at these days Chanel bags were 40% cheaper than they are today).
Then I decided I would like to have just one Kelly bag and a matching scarf. Perhaps one cashmere shawl. Then I would be done I told myself. Well, we all know how that worked out:roflmfao:.

Hey, at least you are lucky to live in a sub-tropical climate. Less temptation for the CSGM shawls I guess :p. We have four seasons climate here, so that means almost all H. items work for this climate. Which means more temptation...and a never-ending wishlist :graucho:.

Photos speak better than my words, so here are an example of the changeant effect. Yup, that copper/yellow light is it!

In normal low light condition, the main color is this mauve
IMG_4924-1.jpg

And, yes Monceau I can dress up and down with mousseline, especially this Mosaique au 24 due to its agreeable pattern. And, I do wear it with jeans.

I better run before **Chanel** kills me for tempting her further, LOL :graucho:.

Lol, Chanel! I was faring worse & accidentally reached the 'slippery slope'. Before H, I was also a Chanel lover & my last lambskin jumbo flap was purchased at the beginning of Oct last year. Then at the end of Oct, I walked into H for the first time in a decade to get a scarf for a friend as Xmas gift. Of course that became the first of my 90 silks. I actually purchased a few CSGMs, but very quickly learnt they were less useful in our climate. Then I purchased the classic 140 black Equateur & started my second H addition. On one of my H excursions I discovered mousselines which I had always stayed away from because of the critters at home. As of now my critters may yet be my salvation! It's time they thanked me for picking the entire litter up off the street in 2005. I wonder when salvation will come!:graucho:

Oh Chestnutty,
Is this the same Mosaique au 24 modelled by TT in her little black dress? This is the first time this newbie has seen the changeant effect! Marvellous! Magical! Mesmerizing! Thx for the photos & information! U are more than stunning in the picture. Your scarf really spices up your entire outfit! Now I must seriously consider going back to work. Then I would have less time lurking here & more resources for scarves!:D

You have totally sold me on this mosaique au 24! The collor is divine and you look stunning!
Must track this down...:graucho:

Lanit, those feathery brushstrokes are divine! And Chestnutty, what a beautiful photo of the changeant "glow" in your Mosaique. I saw this one at the boutique recently in plastic wrap and didn't ask for it to be taken out-- now that I've seen it in your photo, I might have to go back and look again.

Re: casual mousse-wear, count me among the fans of mousselines with jeans. I'm finding my Aux Portes so easy to toss on for a very casual tone-on-tone look with jeans and a blue top. And I do mean literally toss on-- when I'm wearing them casually I don't even bother with a simple bias fold. You can just grab these mousselines out of the box, stuff them over your shoulders any which way, and go.
