Oh my, this is divine! So now I love 05, 06, and 10, but must choose one...

Same here Monceau! I'd love to have ALL 3 in my possession. :DFortunately we don't have a website & local boutiques don't do charge-send in my country. And NONE of the local boutiques has stocked cw5! Hope u get your dream mousseline soon!

D Lee, you should be safe. The changeant effect comes from the way different colors of thread are woven together rather than from an overlay or coating of some kind. I haven't needed to clean either of my two changeant moussies yet, but I've dry-cleaned my changeant plisse with no ill effects.

Thx calexandre. I feel safe now as regards my desire to acquire a changeant sometime in the future! BTW, I have viewed my Axis Mundi cw10 in various angles & still couldn't observe the changeant effect!

I remember one mouss with soft pink background and sort of leaves/flowers on it. Shades of coral are in it as well. I have seen it somewhere in this thread, but I forgot the name.
Offrandes d'un jour? I saw it on ebay.fr a few months ago :graucho:. There's one on USA ebay right now but I bet you wouldn't be willing to buy and pay 40% import tax on that :sweatdrop:.

Yes! That's the name indeed . Here's a pic of it, courtesy of a PF member. I think this would work well with Sanguine :graucho:.
And you are right about the customs, but maybe if I see one on the Bay for a nice price, who knows :p.

This is such a beautiful scarf. Hope u get it, Chanel! The pitfall of getting on the bandwagon late is that u get to drool over beautiful scarves u missed.

This is a beauty-- I just love the flowers in this one. I keep hoping the petrole CW will pop up, although this pink one is even more colorful!

D Lee is so right about getting on the bandwagon late. It's especially painful when you COULD have been on the bandwagon and instead stood and stared at the bandwagon while it rolled past you. I bought my first scarf in 2007, and I seem to remember the mousselines were a little over $600 at the time. Just thinking of all the incredible patterns I could have bought then makes me a bit ill. Now I'm looking for those same mousselines at higher prices-- good grief! :shame:

D Lee, thank you and yes, it would be nice if I could find one in the future. But I will be patient...my H. money tree looks pretty dead atm anyway, lol. And I agree with calexandre; I wish I had bought more mousselines in the past when their prices were a lot more friendlier :p.

calexandre, the petrol cw is also gorgeous and I really hope you can find one. I love petrol :D!
There's also a black cw that looks very interesting to me, but I would like a mousseline that goes well with my Sanguine Birkin, and I think the pink cw could work nice.
Maybe Rayures Mexicaines would work too, that's another 'oldie' I wouldn't mind to have :graucho:.

10 years ago, I stepped gingerly into H for the first time in my life to get my dear friend A a scarf for Xmas. I was wondering then what had come over my normally level-headed friend so she had this crazy idea that she wanted to use US$300 H scarves. Now my friend A is wondering what has come over her friend D so she has this crazy idea that she wants even more expensive US$487(local rate) H scarves!:roflmfao:

Yes, that pink Offrandes would indeed be heavenly with your Sanguine Birkin. I just saw Sanguine in person for the first time recently, and thought it was so sophisticated-- how wonderful that you have a Birkin in that shade!

Well, now I know not to spend too much time looking for a changeant effect when my own #10 comes in, hopefully fairly soon. :graucho:

Congratulations! U won't regret getting cw10, with or without changeant effect! Cw10 is so pretty & quite a rare color in mousselines, H or otherwise. I am so happy that we can soon be twins! BTW, I still can't get your cw7 out of my head. Afterall, this is the cw I promised my SA that I would buy which, in the end, I didn't!

Excited to be twins too! And I agree that the colors are really rare to find in a mousseline, which is part of what's pushed me over the edge. I talked myself out of it when I first saw it in spite of the fact that it made my heart leap, simply because I wear things that match blues and pinks more often than I wear these gorgeous soft earth tones. But in the end, I couldn't get it out of my mind, and your photos sealed the deal! Now, are you sure you don't want to go back and get that fuschia? ;)

Oh calexandre,
U can really read my mind!;) I am in jeans 95% of the time & u know how great the match is between cw7 & jeans! I am sleeping on this issue & one of these days I really might march into H & get myself a cw7, if it is still available! I NEED a red mousseline & I called my boutique to request a red Aux Portes du Polais a few days ago, only to be told every cw of this pattern has sold out & the shop wouldn't be restocking them since they were from a previous season.

As regards 'our' cw10, we are in a similar situation here as I don't have a single earth tone top, blazer, jacket, pants or whatnot to go with it. Fortunately I have an ancient Chanel beige bag & shoes from my work days which are a rather acceptable match.

I am sure u will look gorgeous in the new cw10. Remember to post modelling shots for us to share your joy!:D

Hi bem3231,

I've not seen all the colorways you mentioned, but I can tell you which ones I have seen and how they stack up on your criteria of design visibility and changeant effect.

CW08: This is the Rose Indien/Encre/Rouge. Gorgeous and very intense, but I found the pattern doesn't show as well on this colorway, since it's more tone-on-tone. I didn't notice a changeant effect, but I also didn't examine this one too closely since I had already gotten CW07. My impression is this is a much more pink-based scarf than capucine, but it's hard to say how they'd look together without actually trying it out.

CW09: Blue/Vert/Aubergine. This one isn't a changeant, but it's one of the loveliest, richest blues I've ever seen. The pattern is subtler in this one than it is in CW06, CW07 or CW10.

CW10: Poudre Irise/Moutarde/Vert. The name implies to me that it might be changeant (often if there are two color names listed together, it seems to indicate that the first color is dominant with the changeant coming in the form of the second color listed). I didn't notice a strong changeant effect when I saw this in person, but there was no natural light whatsoever in the boutique. My suspicion is that it might have a subtle lavender changeant effect, but D Lee, who just posted photos of this beauty, could confirm that. This colorway of all the ones I've seen so far shows the pattern the best.

CW07 is also definitely a changeant (fuschia jaune, so predominantly fuschia with a jaune glow that gives the whole scarf a peachiness in some lights). I take it this one isn't one of your options, however!

As to what would make a good first choice... that's so hard to say! I would ask you what colors you usually choose in scarves, but with mousselines I find the options are much broader, because the sheerness of the fabric makes colors you might not usually go for a possibility. :smile1:

Love the commentary my dear. Which one is more green? Mostly green? I have cw 10 coming as I thought it was mostly green and yellow. Yes? D Lee's KILLS ME!!

I should clarify that my plissé is a regular twill changeant rather than a mousseline. hopiko, I would love to know more details about the ribbed moussie you saw: sounds amazing!
Talk about plissed mousseline, I think I've seen it before.

I had no idea these existed! Love it. Oh dear, another type of mousseline to want.

10 does have lots of green, and a teal contrast hem to boot! There's a good bit of brown and pale powdery-lilacy-nude in it too, so it's hard to call one or two colors dominant-- it's very colorful, but in a soft, earthy, and very flattering way.

CW09 also has lots of forest-green accents with the dark blue. There is also a CW (not sure what number) that's green, brown, and more green-- I haven't seen it, but customer service connected me to a boutique to get a verbal description and the SA said it was a yellowy-green background with dark brown and green details. Sounded gorgeous but I decided to go with 10 since I've seen it in person and know I love it. I hope you do too! :smile1:
