Cold calling almost any boutique to ask for a leather bag can be awkward. While I don’t have a specific SA to recommend (I’ve had good service by all SAs at this location), I will say that they currently have a black 29cm 24/24 and a bambou 31cm(?) Bolide on display and readily available for purchase. If you do decide to make the trip to Chicago, call in advance as shopping is currently by appointment only.

Thanks so much for your response! Glad to hear all of your experiences at the Chicago location have been positive. I will definitely call in advance.

Does anyone have a great SA here that they wouldn't mind sharing contact info for?

Everyone at the Chicago Hermes are great! They now are working via appointment system to keep the store from being crowded, so you will not be able to request a specific SA anyway if you are new to this particular boutique. The best way to go about it is to call the boutique (beware they get busy and do not answer, so leave a message). Let them know that you are new to their boutique and would like to make an appointment. I believe that the manager then assigns you an SA and makes an appointment. Once you start working with someone, ask them for their email so that you can email them your wish list. Hope this helps.

Hi all, I have a question for those who are "regulars" at this location. I have been working with my SA at this location since August 2020. I have not had much of an opportunity to visit the location because of my work schedule (healthcare), but have been able to make purchases remotely. So I am in contact with her via text/email. I did see her once in February. I bought a few fine jewelry pieces during that visit and an Evelyn bag. We were chatting about my wishlist, Birkin 30. I was pretty forthcoming and asked her what are the chances one would be available by my birthday which is the end of the year. She was very pleasant and said that with the pandemic, production this year has been slow and that they have not been getting in very much. She went on to say, if production resumes to pre-pandemic, the chances are pretty good I can see an offer by December.

So I guess my question is for those who go to this location regularly, has stock moved slow for this location? And how difficult is to get an offer from this location? I have read differing stories of spend before getting an offer and I have heard stories that it's more about the relationship over the spend, and which does it tend to be in this locations, Spend? Or Relationship?

Thanks in advance for any insight!!!

Edit: Looks like I asked a very similar question a few months ago.......LOL

I have been a long-term customer at the Chicago store and I would say that for me I feel it's about showing long term interest and love for the brand and yes, relationship with your SA over a specific spend. I have not been able to visit/or frequent the boutique very frequently since late 2019 but I love this store. All of the SAs are lovely. It took me less than 2 months to be offered a B/K but that was over ten years ago! I've been offered a steady stream of bags and I don't think I fall into the category of drop truck loads of money whenever I go in. Hope this helps!

This thread is so helpful as I am going to the Chicago store (first time visiting Hermes store ever) in a couple of weeks. I’m excited but also nervous!

I have a few small items I’d like to check out, and would also like to ask about a birkin 25 (seems like the first step is to get a wishlist created according to what I’ve read?)

Any suggestions or things to keep in mind, what not to do, etc… for my first visit there? Thanks in advance!

I have no real advice about scoring a bag there, as I haven’t been offered one (yet). But I’ve been a client there for just about a year. Don’t visit too often, maybe every other month. Anyhow, enjoy the process..all the SA’s are very nice and down to earth. On my first visit there, I was joking with my SA asking how often she gets asked about Birkin and Kelly bag, and boy did the flood gates open…she went on a funny tirade about it. But also in that same appt, she asked if I would be interested in a wishlist and spent a good 45-60 mini going over colors, sizes, leathers, hardware. She had me try on samples. It was so fun. Anyhow, I digress. Like I said, have fun with the process, be yourself oh, and if you can have a list of items you are interested in (other than Birkin/Kelly) ready for your appt.

Good luck!!!!

Thanks so much for the quick response! I saw your post about a year ago and was wondering how you brought up the “hot topic” with your SA. :) Trying on samples sounds like so much fun!!!! And yes I’ll be sure to enjoy the visit!

Visited the Chicago boutique for the first time yesterday!! It was such an amazing experience and the SAs were so helpful and nice. I was nervous at first but my 30 min appointment quickly turned into an hour and I made my first Hermes purchases (a scarf, a scarf ring and a belt). Will definitely be visiting the boutique again next time we are in town to check out other items!!
