If you regularly shop at this store I think you could put it on your wishlist and hopefully it will be fulfilled soon!
Yeah I think I need to double check if it’s on my wishlist (I thought it was but now am suspecting it’s not…). It was still a good visit yesterday with the stuff I was able to get. Was just a bit surprised that the bolide seemed so unreachable for some reason. 😅

Hello
Im in a tough situation regarding my SA at this store/. I had mentioned a few months ago that before my trip to Chicago (I do not live in a city with a store, Chicago has been my home store since 2023) my SA simply didnt respond to my texts referencing setting an appointment time/day. My wishlist is for a K25 and B30 any color (no exotics). At this stage I have made 3:1 spends on both items. But despite this Ive not had any QB offers when I visit. Whats more troubling to me is that there are plenty of items I like and I will text my SA about them and they either take a week to get back or they do not respond (which has been the case since June). I have made 2 requests for shoes (I wear a size 42 so I realize they are hard to come by) but I get no response. I sent a follow up text today for a request I texted last thursday--no response. I still would like to shop at the Chicago store...but current SA is just not a good fit I feel. Im torn bc I have shopped a lot with them when I am in store. Also sometimes i will see items available on line (and I could easily purchase them) but I still prefer to go through my SA. Sorry just really frustrated and wondering what folks that do not live in a city with a store do. Any advice would be helpful

I am sorry about your situation, but just wanted to chime in and let you know I’m in a similar boat in the sense that 1) I don’t live in Chicago but this is also my closest store, therefore my home store, 2) I’ve spent a ton (just did some math last night to tally things up and surprised myself and made me doubt my life choices 😆) and I’m not after a birkin or Kelly and yet every time when a bag conversation comes up- the first point made was “no birkin or Kelly”, which is fine with me since that’s not on my wishlist… but I can’t even get my hand on a bolide 🥲

So I’m curious what’s the pre spend ratio actually like at this location, and I’m also wondering if out of town customers are at a disadvantage compared to those that live in the city and can visit way more regularly.

A lot of the time, when SAs don't reply to item requests it's because they are unable to source the item and instead of telling you so, they choose to just ignore the request. It's very frustrating but I would take an ignorance after a follow up as a "no". I would have a frank talk with your SA the next time you are in town. Straight up ask them "hey I noticed that often when I try to text order and item from you, I get no reply. Is that because the item isn't available or do you prefer not to do remote orders? I'm trying to understand how best to shop with you remotely." and see what they say. If anything, it will hopefully spur them to be more communicative when you request things, even if the answer is "no". As for bags, that's kind of the difficulty with being a remote client. If nothing is available the weekend you visit, you are kind of out of luck until the next visit. Keep reminding your SA and try to schedule your appointment with them 10-14 days in advance.

Yes, this is true for all Hermes stores US wide. A local constantly visiting client will always be top of mind over remote. :(

I am in the same boat. Lost count of my prespend but at this point at least 5x. Maybe 10x. Who knows at this point. No offers for a year and a half. I do not know what to do. I do know that friends get bags at this store. I am very local. Perhaps we all have the same SA?

ETA: I do not agree with any of the @acrowcounted comments. I am local and in the same boat and this store holds bags plenty of times. Bags come in and they are allocated. No one looks what is available on the date of @thediscerningcollector visit

I am sorry to hear this, and i sincerely hope you get your dream Bolide soon!
I am willing to be a consistent customer even for the months Im not in Chicago, but truly the rate limiting step here is my SA. My frustration stems for both not being offered my wish list items but also from all the things I miss out on (size 42 white with GHD oz mules) that are on the website--but I wait for my SA who never replies and then they are inevitably bought off of the website by someone else!

This is very helpful, thank you! I think a frank respectful conversation is needed.

Got it--so they know before which bag is going to be offered to which client.

Which is why I said to be sure she knows you are visiting 10-14 days in advance so she can plan something for you. Not sure where the miscommunication was here...
That is not how it works here at all. @acrowcounted are you US based? I see you commenting frequently but never purchases or action shots. I am sure you carry a lot of wisdom, just not applicable to this store

This response is confusing because you basically said exactly what acrowcounted said.

You said the store holds bags, so yes, you would want to reach out a week or two before so that any bags that came in or are coming in are held for remote shoppers.

The bags are not allocated by who has an appointment coming up. They are allocated by whatever other formula. I am not entirely sure what it is but it is definitely not by appointment as I surely would have gotten QBs are year and so would have my friends. It the store decides to give the bag to OP, they will reach out and offer for the OP to make their way to the store. None of my bag offers ever coincided with a regular appointment, I was offered to come in separately for that purpose. None of my friends ever got a surprise offer or were able to walk away with a bag from a non bag specific appointment.
They store knows what bags are coming at least two weeks in advance, they sort who gets it, offer them and wait for clients to make their way to pick up.
I am not great at multi quote but this "If nothing is available the weekend you visit, you are kind of out of luck until the next visit." is incorrect as well as "try to schedule your appointment with them 10-14 days in advance." Scheduling an appointment further out would not bring the OP any closer to a bag, not at this store any way.
"A local constantly visiting client will always be top of mind over remote." is also not accurate here as this store. This store gets a large number of Chinese nationals whose kids go to two local amazing colleges. They spend a lot and get very much of a preferential treatment.
There is definitely country/region/store specific rules. While many comments are generic and are helpful to anyone (more like general logic or human psychology), I am not sure why acrow is making store specific comments as I have never seen them post any personal accounts or make any comments that reflect on the personal experience. To me it feels like the OP is made to look like they are not managing appointments and expectations correctly where in fact it is less then an ideal SA and store culture.
I do not have a great advice for @The discerning collector but they have done nothing wrong, that's for sure, and their experience has nothing to do with luck
