Going here in 2 weeks. Will report on how it goes.

Looking for a Birkin, Kelly, Lindy, or even Jypsiere! We'll be there for 4 days and the hotel is literally 2 mins away (walking distance), so will visit everyday.

I hate say this again but in Chicago...the service is worse than FSH. For me; I do not believe I will go back there again.

Though I have had wonderful service in Atlanta, Seattle, San Diego, San Fransico, New York, and several places around the world!:flowers:I am happy to hear hear that H chicago is not always this way and many members here have had great service. Hopefully it will continue to provide that service...

Ugh, this is upsetting to hear. I lived in Chicago until a few years ago and loved that store -- bought two Birkins and a Kelly there and always had great service. I worked with Peter and Caroline, both delightful and fun. So sorry you had this experience.

Hi Ladies.

I live in Chicago and have historically purchased Chanel, but I have started to research Birkins over the past year and have found that I really want to start collecting Birkins in a number of colors and hardwares. I would like to find a great sales associate in Chicago who will be a good fit.

Lately, I have been buying 5-6 Chanels annually, and have decided that I would much rather buy 1-3 Birkins every year and build up my purse wardrobe with Birkins. While I love the Chanel classic flap bags for night, I think that the Birkin is much more practical for day than anything that Chanel makes (I am a busy professional and need a purse that carries a fair amount). I have also started to become disappointed in Chanel quality and therefore am longing for the quality of a Birkin bag, which seems to have stayed constant over the years. I am totally willing to pay for quality and also for classic bags that will be in style forever, and I have become convinced that Birkin is the best choice. The color choices for Birkins are unmatched, and I love the idea of eventually having Birkins in multiple colors and hardware combinations to go with all my different outfits.

I would like to build a long-term relationship with a sales associate in Chicago. I am looking for someone sweet, knowledgeable and helpful (I would especially like an SA who would be willing to share her opinions about what hardware looks best on which colors, which leathers take particular colors best, etc.). While I have been doing my homework, tt would be great to have a chicago SA who has been with Hermes for a long time who can share her knowledge with me to help me make the best choices. Since I plan to be a very good customer over the years, I want to make sure that I pick my sales associate wisely. I am entirely self-made and have worked very hard for many years to be in the position that I am now to buy expensive goods, so I would like not to have to buy a bunch of items that I don't want to prove that I am Birkin-worthy. That said, I am totally willing to pick out 3 or 4 color/leather/hardware combinations that I want to buy and wait patiently for them. I just want someone who will take me seriously and be willing to help me and develop the relationship that I desire.

Thanks in advance!

If you're looking for someone sweet, I would really recommend Caroline. She is just lovely, and there long enough to know what she's doing, even though she is young.

you almost certainly have to buy other things before getting a birkin, even if you find a nice SA.

i've bought various things from H (not all at the specific store, but stores around the US) for over 2 years and didn't have enough history to buy a bag from chicago H even though i thought i clicked with an SA (peter iirc).

Agreed- you probably can't just walk in and ask for a Birkin without establishing a relationship and buying other things to be seen as a consistent and valued customer. Having said that, I can't say that I had spend months buying a lot of other things (I bought some scarves and small leather goods, bracelets, a wallet, that kind of thing, but not a lot of ready-to-wear) before getting Kellys and Birkins. Once I established a relationship, it was more a matter of them finding the leather and HW combinations I wanted. I worked mainly with Peter, but a bit with Caroline too.

Just had a horrible experience in the Chicago H store, on a business trip to the city. I'm only into scarves, and it was my first visit to an H store. I was even wearing my Fleuri Cheval (gift)! Completely unhelpful SA who seemed to know no more than me (and sometimes less). When I asked about what colors/designs would work best, he said that anyone could wear any of the scarves and look good. Excuse me???? Clearly this guy had no experience in helping customers -or perhaps chose not to. All of the other SAs ignored me, and I was the only customer in the store. I don't think I have EVER been so disgusted in the customer service at a store. Get this staff trained, Corporate Hermes!

Sorry to hear this, I have had not great experiences in that store. Try another store when you get a chance, I have had great experiences in many other places!!:flowers:

My husband was just in the store less than two weeks ago and had a great experience. He was there to pick up an Ulysse PM for me and said Peter was extremely helpful. The store was busy when he arrived and Peter repeatedly apologized that he had to wait.

Does anyone have a SA to recommend at Hermes Chicago store? I am new to this brand and love many of its products. For now I am looking for my dream bag (Kelly sellier 28/32). I want to find a SA who is nice, not pushy and would like to help in looking for the bags I want.

Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you so much!!
