Just saw this post, sorry to be getting back to you so late!
On my first call to Dallas I spoke with Martha. She did not have the shawl I wanted, but she did a search and located it for me. We had a long and very nice conversation and she was so warm, funny and helpful. Any time I have called she has been super nice and has always gone out of her way to help me find things. I later found out that she was the manager of the store. I've spoken with one of the male SAs - super nice, but I can't recall his name.
I've always asked for Martha and she's always been helpful. She seems to know everyone and can give you the names of great SAs and managers at just about every store in the country. It's probably been six months since I last spoke with her, but I'm sure she is still there.

Thank you! I will see if she is there! Happy Sunday .....:ty:

Being a native, I can say that I have only received great service at the Chicago store. They are knowledgable and more than willing to pull out any scarf you want to try on. I encourage you to visit! Jared helps me with my scarves and is very nice.

I went there today. The S.A.'s were much nicer than the other times I've been there. Almost thought I got a bag but I'm guessing I didn't have enough history because he went to the second floor after writing down my name and saying he would see what he could do but he came back with nothing. I had several things on my list to buy before asking about a bag but they had nothing. Low inventory :(.

I just started Hermes shopping 3 months ago and the first time I was there, I felt like I was treated super nicely and not treated as an Hermes newbie. Trish (Patricia) helped me out and she even explained to me slowly the different leather, showed me the color book etc.
She also helped out with ordering different jewelries from different stores and have them shipped directly to me. Tracey is the buyer and GM for the store and she is nice too. If you need to special order a bag, she is the one to talk to.

^ thanks so much for the info about Trish! Going to Chicago next week, don't necessarily want another bag, but hey if there were something in a grey or Menthe, I'd be tempted....;)

Trish was not only nice but patient and truly loved the product. I went shopping on Friday and bought my hubby a tie pin and card holder... Please do give my best to her as I had to fly to Dubai rather unexpectedly. I'm from Houston and will say hi next time jm in town ... Loved the store!

They had wonderful selection of jewelry , watches, bags and bangles. I loved it and Tracey seemed very lovely too.

Good luck but I believe you won't be disappointed.

I was there three years ago on a trip to Chicago with my mom. I was fearless and I was going there to buy my second scarf and that's probably why I had a great experience. The only cringe-worthy moment was when I admired (petted) a beautiful herbag on a shelf only to discover that it belonged to a lady who was shopping nearby! Ha ha! I can't remember what bags were on the shelf and I couldn't have afforded them anyway, I was just there to get a scarf. The SA was very nice and helpful and I considered my trip a success!

Anyone have experience with Peter? A friend recommended him. I have called him twice to discuss an upcoming trip to Chicago, but he does not return my phone call. Is this unusual? I have never purchased at this store, but have purchased from many other H stores including a black Birkin 35 and Evelyne plus many scarves and bracelets.

I never did with Peter but if he never responded to you, I would say go ahead and contact a different sa. Again, I only dealt with Trish to date but she has been very prompt with responding to calls.

Quick scoop on what I saw yesterday in store:
- picotin mm bicolor in Gris t and mango?
- few more solid color picotin pms
- so Kelly 26 I think in graphite and so Kelly 22
- different sizes and colors garden party leather and canvas
- there are few canvas bags that I forgot the names as well
- lindy 34 bleu jean, lindy 30 etoupe
- small evelyne, mm I think

Well, on my trip here in Chicago I found myself in Hermes (no surprise). I have been a quiet but avid collector of silks, mousselines, plissés, etc. for some Time now. Can't count how many.

When asking about specific colorways in GM format, I was told "maybe try across the street."

Excuse me?

But it was repeated. I smiled with a look of mild shock as the SA's intention slowly dawned on me.

So even though I saw one thing in particular that I would have loved as a memento of my trip, sorry. Won't be getting my business off that comment.

Another SA was decent enough to be horrified, but I had to go on that note.

Still smiling, here for an event that will, by far, eclipse that silly moment. But my goodness, Chicago Hermes. Really?

I don't understand, what was across the street?

I guess a department store?

In a nutshell: rude and not wanting to serve me.

I'm over it now. Just surprised a SA did not want to sell me a shawl.

No doubt a racist gesture, which I am above & try not to pay any attention to, but it is still a bit of a shock when encountered and one least expects it.
