I came within a split second of buying a bubblegum that looked like it had been run over by a car when a friend hit me up about another... that was absolutely mint! And undepriced! I grabbed it (luckily it had a tag pic) and when it came i swear I just stared at it for a week on the dining room table. My boyfriend finally got i...And really liked it. Then it was of to the races.

I’m the opposite. I use my favorite super oldie bals everyday (I don’t trash them though … I use them respectfully) ~ I want to use items that I like and enjoy it everyday … no idea when one would suddenly die/get sick and be bed ridden and won’t get a chance to wear/enjoy the nice stuff XD

I'm in that very situation..I should carry them!
I have one new bag..a black 13 city that I carry daily went 10 years without a trip to the spa, surprisingly resilient and it looks great (and i do think black bags can be collectible, although for the life of me I don't understand @samfalstaff emerald just sitting there all perfect and reasonably priced. Emerald is crazy gorgeous and rare. If I weren't committed, I'd be begging her to give me a month or two. ..what's up? I've believe I've seen people buy that bag without the strap and make one. )

I became a minimalist in all areas of my life… and I now keep my bag number to under 5 bags always (and that includes my backpack). I enjoy and appreciate the very few favorite bags that I have now and I use them all the time and I don’t get bored ^^ when I had around 15 bags I realized I was always using the “favorites” and neglecting the others so sold all keeping only the ones I truly love. I’m not a collector so if anything is hardly being used I would sell it or donate it. I quite enjoy some empty space in my closet .

I would love to be a minimalist, but realized when I had 12 bags, I just got bored.... but now that I've got 50, it's like I have too many so I do need to find a middle ground!

That's great! I have too many but it is hard to part with any. I feel guilty that they each only get carried a few times a year. I've never been a minimalist. Sometimes when I shop for something specific, I end up getting more than one, and I'm guilty of not stopping looking once I find something.

Sometimes I wish I could carry the same bag for 3 months before switching but I often get bored with a bag after a few days.

I'm the same way, I switch my bag everyday, sometimes I switch my bag twice a day!
