Chanel has written and described this goth princess and rock to describe their rtw a lot . It started with the castle theme collection for this recent metiers d art. And they used it to describe it like if a young women was to go to a cotillion and be all rock and roll but Chanel rock and roll n they described it like a lot by using the wordage goth princess. It’s something they use to describe VV’s rtw style too, because she’s into rock music and rock artists.
If I could touch either punk, rock, or princess I would be quite happy

but the rest of it.
I agree. It's just a styling issue...it can be very pretty, for instance, with a silk blouse.

Yes, I’ve seen turn lock buttons on a jacket in black and ecru in the 2021 collection and it is one of my favourite pieces. I have it and I love love love it. It’s so easy to wear and subtly Chanel. HIGHLY RECOMMEND (once you get over the fact that it looks like it’s balling up) .

I tossed around getting one size down but ended up with my normal size to have the same allure of oversized fit as intended on the model and it wasn’t too oversized so best to try it on.

Wow - how amazing are those turnlock buttons. have they done them more recently too? I am going to be watching out for any pieces that emerge anywhere with these buttons - love them - and the dove grey colour of this cardigan is just perfection :heart:

I also noticed that some used shops have also doubled their prices on the same item compared to a few years ago. I feel like the same jacket being several years older is double the price.
I also don’t know how some used shops can keep getting the same popular items again and again year after year in different sizes (some in new condition). For example I’ve seen the black Seoul jacket from timelessluxuries 3 times now.

@PassionChanel, prices have risen enormously in the past few years. when I started buying chanel RTW in 2001-2002, a basic navy boucle jacket was 1400 USD and a simple lesage skirt was 875 (I still have many older chanel pieces) Chanel today is also sometimes triple the price of other premier designers. (My chanel SA insists that chanel prices are comparable to brunello prices, but I disagree. IMO, chanel cashmere coats (and the first ski season puffer) we’re relatively warm, the rest, while beautiful, not really. (My experience is with chanel boucle, cashmere, and puffer coats). Don’t forget other designers do beautiful boucle. J. mendel; Valentino; Akris. etc etc.

@Hanash, I vaguely seem to recall years when chanel prices were not all that far from Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, Ungaro, Valentino and a few others, but I could be mistaken. Here is a comparison of some 2020-2021 prices among Chanel/Dior/Brunello/Hermes.

5K Chanel t shirt; 6K velvet joggers (this year); 17K puffer coat coco neige; 6-15K boucle jacket; 4300 cashmere cardigan

Dior: 895 Dior t shirt; 2K Dior pants; 4-6K Dior coat; 2800- 4500K jacket; skirts 2-4,500K, There are some expensive fantasy pieces such as last years embroidered back cashmere coat for 17K which no one bought even at sale. this season, fantasy embellished navy lace long skirt with organza flowers 24K.

Brunello: 1100 simple pullover; 1800 most pants; 12K alpaca cashmere winter coat or metallic hooded car length shearling (I bought both at 50% Sale last year but they’re sturdy classic winter staples that actually can withstand rain or snow); 4K summer dresses; 2K tops

Hermes RTW: 1800 pants; 2000 sweater?; 4-5K last years bomber jacket with leather sleeves

I prefer the chanel boutique buy, but you can compare designers and possibly get better deals at department stores. Happy shopping !

brilliant idea. I will venture into sewing after retirement...for now I'll need to find a real seamstress...if anyone has a good lady to recommend in Manhattan please let me know...
two suggestions from boutiques

Turnbull & Asser uses Milano tailor UES (they only take cash and checks, but I have used them for jackets
brunello cuchinelli uses ignacios (I seem to remember near Bloomingdales)

I made a request for this coat. Thanks to @ari I found out the price before I asked the store to contact me when available. I thought it would be a nice coat to wear for hopefully several years to come. But now I doubt if it's worth the price, part of me is trying to justify another part is saying that Chanel has raised its prices and it has nothing to do with the design, material or any other acceptable reason. Had this coat been made a few seasons ago, the price would probably have been much lower than it is today. Or am I wrong? I asked the store about the material and if any special method is used when it was made but got no helpful answer:no:
Now that I saw it, I’m not sure I would pay that money for patchwork coat, no matter it’s glittering cashmere. I’m not that artistic.
It’s still beautiful to me, the cut is classic, the color is nice, but the price.. and the patchwork…

Speaking of TRR finds, I have been staring at this tweed blouse - description says it's from 2015 fall winter RTW, look 17, but I don't think they look the same. Does anyone have the piece from look 17 of 2015 and confirm it? thanks a lot!

Yes, it’s from brassiere collection, I remember trying it and loved it.

I tried on the black version of this two weeks ago, to see if I liked the fit. The patchwork wasn’t as visible on the black one. I’m heading to the boutique tomorrow, it will be interesting to see how the white one feels and looks up close. But i agree, the price is very high. Not sure if it is the material or work behind the coat. It would be nice to know.

I don't know the price but it is indeed very pretty. Perhaps the black version is more long lasting and easier to justify?

Can you justify the price to your own mind by slashing two jackets or four sweaters(?) from next years shopping list? Or out of what you would spend on (fill in the blank) like bags?

21K Classic LBJ!
The tag reads “Jacket Iridescent Tweed” and it does have a little sparkle and shine to it:coolio:
The story is this was the only one left in the company and it was delivered late, which is why they had it available. So, it needs altered down a few sizes, but I feel pretty good about it!
And I feel REALLY good about somehow being able to use my double point day so, essentially, 10% off :yahoo:
